Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
My biggest gripe was that they spent 22 episodes on the wedding and 2 episodes on the next 16 years. However, they did pigeonhole themselves by telling the audience that he meets the mother at the wedding. The moment when they finally did meet was huge and was one of, if not the best scene of the series. That's the moment we waited to see over the past 9 years and it had to be seen in the last episode.
To the Ted and Robin relationship. The first few seasons, I remember everyone wanting them to be together and upset that they shouldn't be together. Yes things have changed and characters have grown but the feelings were still there. Robin at that time wanted her career more and Barney felt the consequences of that. Ted wanted to settle and couldn't achieve that with her in the earlier years. Now they're in the 50s, Robins done all her traveling, Ted has his kids. He might not be in love with her right now, she might not be in love either but it's a hint that they can rekindle their relationship. No one knows if they'll truly last but I feel at this moment Ted has lived a full life being with Tracy.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
I disagree. There are a couple things they could have flash forwarded to earlier. Tracy announcing she was pregnant, Marshall becoming a judge, etc. But the final goodbye, him seeing Tracy, him talking to Tracy for the first time, their wedding, Barney and Robin's divorce, Barney having a child, and the mother's death, all HAD to be in the finale. I had no problem with the season setting, but I think there should have been more reminiscing and flash forwarding throughout the season. A little more of Ted and Tracy's life, more minutia from the future. But the finale had to be crammed with that stuff the way it was.

But if the whole show was to convince the kids he really has always loved Robin why show all that other stuff. I like the way it ended.Comment

The locket was a foreshadowing. He would do anything for robin. Even run off with her when Robin ask him too, but he has to big of a heart and to do that to Barney is not Ted's style. I guess I just always wanted him to get with Robin lol.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
I don't think the decision to be with Robin in the end would have cheesed off so many, if all of Ted's other relationships (and most one night stands) didn't seem to have more screen time then the Mom.Comment

In terms of the "stages of grief" about this show, I think I'm around Bargaining lol. Finding ways to not be mad or anything about the show that much. Prob skip over "depression" until September when it really sinks in that HIMYM is done and not coming back. And acceptance just for the sake of accepting it so I can move on from HIMYM.Comment
