Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)

    Some early casting announcements:

    We have our Oberyn Martell:

    And his lovely paramour:

And an interview with George R.R. "finish the books already" Martin that has some spoilers for future novels if you dig deep, but really, nothing important:

I have to say, the finale of Season Three finally made me see the show as a separate entity. I love the books, but I have a new appreciation for the show. Though how they stretch things beyond the upcoming season, well, we'll see.

Isn't Mace generally regarded as a *****? I don't know how he's described in the books just yet but if he's supposed to be non-threatening, I'd say it's spot-on.

              From the ASOIAF wiki....

              http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Mace_Tyrell

He is handsome and a once powerful looking man, but has since turned to fat.
              But then this....

He is a prematurely old and tedious man lacking in political savvy.
So he doesn't look like the character looked but he does look like the characters acts.

I have no clue why they're recasting Daario, and re-recasting Gregor, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Glad to see Game of Thrones back at the top of the Entertainment-Technology board. I'm sure you guys noticed but they also re-casted Tommen. Probably not a bad thing as the former actor was slightly forgettable (not that Tommen played a big role in the first two seasons).

For those of you who might find this entertaining/interesting. I decided to create some Game of Thrones football uniforms for a Fantasy League I'm in.

Very interesting change with Daario...maybe they'll give him his blue hair this season [I might be the only one who thinks he needs it]. Stupid that they didn't think ahead and make sure his schedule was clear, if that's why he's being recast.

Gregor is kind of forgettable, though I wish they would have brought back Conan Stevens from the first season now that The Hobbit is done filming.

Well the guy they cast to play Gregor in season 4 is listed as 6'9, 419 pounds. I guess that's fitting. I agree with bringing back Conan Stevens though.

Edit: Just read that Stevens and Whyte were both 7'1, so the new Gregor is short. That's incredible to me.

I was rather upset after the scene Conan had at the joust that he was recast. But the Hobbit was a major opportunity so its worked out for him. Sucks for us though because I thought it was a near perfect Mountain casting.

Mark Gatiss playing "Unknown Role" in season 4, finally has a role.

Mark Gattis (Tycho Nestoris) has a funny idea for how Game of Thrones could end, one he actually pitched to showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
