Wow another very good episode...James Spader is just killing this role. Dude steals every scene he is in. Love his character...you feel that he is really dangerous but yet so cool and laid back.

Re: The Blacklist
Haven't seen ep 2 yet, but my wife and I really like this show. We were worried Spader would appear to be somewhat creepy, but he comes off more mysterious than creepy.
Definitely will be tuning in from here on out!
I am hoping she doesn't turn out to be his daughter, that's super obvious. Won't ruin much, just wishful thinking.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: The Blacklist
Shouldn't be an easy escape, but Spader doesn't seem to have many weaknesses.....yet.
If this show was a Netflix original I would of watched it in a day.Comment

Re: The Blacklist
Hey, he gave himself up! He's a treasure trove of information and the most valuable asset of the US government. They will let him out to play. As he says in brilliant Spader style, "The FBI works for me." (hilarious)

Re: The Blacklist
I like Spader. I want to like this show.
But they are taking the stupid good guys and genius bad guys too far. Both episodes have depended on the FBI being idiots and the terrorists with unlimited resources and intelligence.
When Agent Keen decided to hide the box she found, it may have been one step too far in dum-dum land.Comment

I think the latter may be the case, because I think that Reddington isSpoilerher father, and wants her all to himself.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I notice the bumbles and stumbles, but to me, it's entertainment and Spader is worth it in Spades, like Bacon.Comment

Re: The Blacklist
The same thing a few people were saying about The Following last year. I think the producers tried to address it at the end of the season, and said, we are learning and trying, but we can't catch the bad guys all the time or the season would end quickly.

Re: The Blacklist
I was one of those who quit on "The Following" for the reasons you stated above. I don't feel the same way about this show though because it's not some band of college-age wannabe serial killers eluding law enforcement. This time its hardened criminals, terrorists, mercernaries, etc. and these are individuals who the FBI never even knew existed so they do not know their hangouts, their specialties, country of origin, religion, etc. etc.
Even in this show, the FBI is being duped by Spader in two episodes quite a few times, but that doesn't bother me.Last edited by roadman; 10-03-2013, 08:21 AM.Comment

Re: The Blacklist
My thought on Spader's character.
SpoilerRed is either her father or uncle. He knows way too much about Elizabeth and the way he calls her "Lizzie" is odd. Red knew about the fire and her hand, and seems to care about her married life. The scene in the restaurant when Elizabeth was profiling him made him uneasy, and it looked like he wanted to tell her who he really was. When Red said all he had left is her that nailed it. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this. I'm also thinking Elizabeth's husband was put there to protect her from something. Maybe Red?GT: Herkyalert
