Saw it last night with no real knowledge of GotG. Thought it was great. Not as good as Avengers for me, but right behind it.

And Vin Diesel's voice acting was terrific.

Loved it. I'd watch a 5-min conversation with Groot and Hodor.

          Finally saw it.

It was very good but not great like everybody says. Maybe I need to see it again but I enjoyed The Avengers more.

          And the post credit scene..............whatever.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Every character was awesome. I honestly probably laughed more in this movie then I have in a majority of pure comedy movies. Someone could tell me that Batista/Drax was the best part of the movie and I would have no arguments with that, he really shocked me.

For how long they spent on the villain they definitely did a great job making him feel a lot more menacing then some of Marvel movies previous ones.

My favorite Disney marvel movie yet(still haven't seen 2nd Captain America) and I'd put it on par with Days of Future Past which I absolutely loved.

The post credit scene had me dying, especially because it just for some reason fit

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

I finally saw it tonight. I loved it, however I'm still ranking it behind Avengers and Cap 2 for now. I think that's mostly due to the fact that I saw it in 3D and something about it hurt my eyes and made it very hard to concentrate. I hope to see it again soon. Highly recommended for anyone still on the fence.

I saw it and liked it plenty, but definitely not in love with it. I think it's either because most of ya'll are/were into comics and I'm not, but this and The Avengers aren't quite high on my list compared to other movies out there, superhero or otherwise.

Obviously the characters made it, and the comedy definitely wasn't too forced. It was well done, and I liked how they threw an 80s tone with the entire mix. It worked really well.

And I don't know if it's just me, but at times I even tried to close my eyes and picture Bradley Cooper doing voiceover work. I swear, I don't hear him as Rocket. Nicely done there.

Awesome and so much fun. Loves all the characters, I wish Groot was my friend. It's behind X-men DoFP and Cap 2 but it has gone in my top 5 of the year for sure.

The movie was beautiful though and if I was a kid, this would be my Star Wars.

Best comic book movie year ever and we still have Sin City 2 coming up.

Perfect role for Chris Pratt. I loved the movie and all of the main characters. The ending with the "object" in the planter had the audience in an uproar.

This is one of the most enjoyable movies I have ever watched regardless of genre.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Just got back from seeing it and like most are saying, it was indeed awesome. That's just the best word I can use to describe it right now. I was having semi-nerdgasms every 5 minutes whenever a character or location was introduced and all the easter eggs. When they showed the first full shot of the "big bad"(link is not a spoiler), I think a little pee came out*. The casting was great, I came away especially surprised/impressed with Batista. I loved absolutely everything about this movie.

The only downside of the night was when I realized how great X-Men, Spider Man and Fantastic Four movies(and possible crossover films with the Avengers) would be if Marvel/Disney had the movie rights and how Fox & Sony are never going to let that happen. I say that having not seen the latest X-Men or Spider Man movies. I don't know the whole deal with TV rights but maybe something can happen there.

Anyways, loved the movie. It's probably my 1A or 1B with The Avengers and I can't wait for the sequel and eventual crossover.

Edit: Well, there was one little nitpick I had. Yondu speaking with a deeply American southern accent threw me.

It was the funnest movie I've seen since Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. There wasn't a single part that didn't flow. It had it's quirks to set it apart from the average action movie and didn't hit you in the face with the humor, which was greatly appreciated. I knew Rocket was going to be the comic relief character, but holy hell did Bradley Cooper do a number with that role. Perfectly cast.

Only bone I have to pick with it was the soundtrack was a bit overrated. Not saying it wasn't good, because there was, but I was underwhelmed. Honestly, if it dropped Aint No Mountain High Enough and ABC at the end it would have met my expectations. Granted, there was a lot of defening and le wrong generation-ing, but that's beside the point.

Also, and maybe I just forgot about it, but

I was really surprised with Drax, thought Bautista did good and had some of the best jokes in it.

One negative I've had is like most of the other Marvel films, is that the villain wasn't a strong part. I didn't get his motivation like I do with a Magneto or Joker.

Still super fun though and I'm gonna check it out again tomorrow.

                            I'll score it 8.5
