Like said before, you have alot of catching up to do.

So many seasons worth watching. If you don't have time to watch many, at least watch the big ones(the first season,the first all star season,fans vs faves season,heroes vs villains season)

Some of the best seasons ever right there. Fiji and Cook Islands were also great too(especially cause I liked the winners of the season)

Also,Cook Island featured one of the best final 2s ever in Survivor(sure,it was actually a final 3,but if you just think of 2 of the people in the finals,and realize how few times the final 2(or 3) has had 2 people in it that both deserved to win,you'll realize how good it was).

I was gonna watch the preview show on TVGN but after a few minutes it looked like there would be spoilers so I switched back to basketball

It doesn't have spoilers. They're only there for the first day of the episode and that's it. They give a preview to the first challenge and stuff and go through what the tribal council area looks like(which is really underrated each season,cause we don't get to see much of it since it's dark/we only get to see the part the players sit on and the area they vote)

28(this one) and hopefully 29 are both new player seasons. Then the "big" 30th season(15th year) can go all out with something like a winners season(people assume it could be the last,though there's 0 proof).

Survivor will never end(at least anytime soon) due to bad TV ratings, it's all just up to the producers. Though I'm sure there's MANY former contestants who'd love to take over if the current staff ever wants to hang it up. Parv does hosting for Survivor after show, Penner was a TV producer already, and a number of other notable people from Survivor past you know would love to get chance to do something like that, so I'm sure they'd have no problem gathering a whole new crew to take over if people like Probst,Burnett and others want to be done with it. It's just whether or not CBS would want the show to continue without them.

Maybe that's something that would've been revealed on the first episode anyway, but I was afraid to risk hearing more news.

About the idol stuff...it wouldn't have been revealed until someone found it, but still, it won't impact anything up until the moment someone finds it(which since you know the spoiler,you'll know where the idol is). Will be interesting to see how that plays out though.

I'm still hoping for a "Survivor: Old School" season one day. Just 2 tribes, no tribe switches until the merge, no idols at all, just a basic game of Survivor. It's like that saying goes, what's old is new. It's been so long since we've had Survivor under that format, that bringing it back for a bit could make things much more interesting. Imagine a season where they never told people there is no idol, and people go crazy trying to find it all season long.

Without a crazy amount of food challenges early on as well. I'm rewatching All Stars Season 8, and man, it was much tougher back then.

After seeing that and the preview show, the people I like:
Cliff,David,Woo,Morgan,LJ,Tony.

Watching the interviews and stuff, even Brice seems like he could be funny. Though the older women on the show seem like they'll be annoying to watch. I hope Brain tribe loses alot. There's only 1 person from the whole tribe I even like. Compared to beauty tribe with 2 people I want in the final 6 and 2 others who I think I might like also. And Brawn tribe with 3 people I want in the final 6.

Is the brain tribe the most dysfunctional tribe of all time? They've been horrendous at EVERYTHING. Seriously, that Garrett dude was annoying and seemingly had no clue how to actually play, and I mean cmon who the hell advocates NOT PLAYING survivor as a means to winning survivor? But anyway, even with that idiot, how can you keep him over someone that sabotaged your camp and poured all your rice in the fire? That's grounds for immediate dismissal, and you KEPT HER? Her terrible challenge performance aside, that's just... crazy

First episode was CRAZY! Can't remember last season of Survivor where that much craziness happened in the opening episode of a season.

As for what did happen:

Brain tribe is worst tribe in history of Survivor.Worst than Malcolm/Denises tribe last time we had 3 tribes,and worse than the tribe from years ago when they were down to just 1 member. David gone?He was the ONLY person on the tribe I liked. And Garrett was stupid and now he's gone too!

My thought on Garrett before season began:

Garrett has the whole "big potential,but failed to live up to it" feel. Though he said he's basically studied every episode of Survivor,so at least we get someone who'll know their stuff

So much for that...I didn't even see David or Garrett being voted out even while votes were being read! Talk about blindsides.

As for other 2 tribes...I hope Brice,LJ and Morgan team up. Those are 3 I like from beauty tribe. And the brawn tribe...sucks how Tony wants Cliff out! It's like Philippines season all over again. 2 guys I like(then it was Penner-Jeff Kent and now it's Tony-Cliff) on opposing sides! I'm hoping something turns around and Tony considers aligning with Cliff-Woo,cause Cliff-Woo were my faves before season even started.

Also...Why didn't anyone take the rice AND look for the idol? Sure,you don't get a clue if you take the rice,but taking the rice and you'll be a hero,then you spend rest of time going out to look for idol. Win-Win right there.

I'm undecided on Spencer lol. He seems like one of those people who thinks he's better than everyone else and always has to be sarcastic and stuff. Either way, I said it before season even began and I'm saying it again...I hope Brains tribe gets destroyed. 2 down, 4 to go! Hopefully they can get wiped out before a tribe switch or anything happens! Though knowing Survivor and how they always want to suddenly make a game more balanced, they'll prob have a memory challenge or something like that which plays into the brains favor to help them out.

As for J'Tia...Like Spencer said,she's a nuclear engineer...I'd be real scared. Someone who's that smart has that crazy of an attitude? When I first saw her interviews and stuff on the preview show,I knew she was gonna be one of those vocal players,but I thought at least if she's smart,she'd be controlled in the way she plays....but she's just another crazy loudmouth character we see on too many Survivor seasons.

It's not even that brainy of a tribe. Did I hear correctly when they said the average IQ was 130? If that was the correct number then the tribe you can say consist of above average to moderately gifted. The only one that stood out to me was Spencer.

145 to 159 - Highly gifted
