I didn't even realize Dumbledore was replaced.

Thanks for the heads up on that, by the way.

I've seen PSH in Twister, Patch Adams, Doubt, Mission: Impossible III, The Master (which I hated), Pirate Radio, Moneyball, and Catching Fire. I never saw Almost Famous or The Ides of March but I know he's in those so I may check them out soon. He always impressed me in the subtleties. Shame he still seemed to have a long career ahead of him.

      Wasn't Michael Gambon the replacement?

Anyway, I always tell people Phillip Seymour Hoffman is my favorite actor. I'm flat out devastated by the news. Top ten PSH roles:

      10. Hunger Games
      9. Along Came Polly
      8. Synecdoche, New York
      7. Almost Famous
      6. Doubt
      5. Mary & Max
      4. The Master
      3. Magnolia
      2. Punch Drunk Love
      1. Capote

Damn the man was talented. I left quite a few good ones off, too.

Good actor. Apparently he's had a drug problem for a while now.

Wow. Drugs really play no favorites. Rich, poor... Very sad to hear.

If this is true, the 23 years sober part and falling back into just two years ago, I truly hope whoever pushed him over the edge is alive to realize what he did.

This news is horrible for the world of entertainment. To me, the best supporting actor in Hollywood.

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Me neither. I'm not shedding a tear, except for his wife and daughters.

Just a horrible loss to the world. It was really weird I was at work watching Moneyball and it was the scene where Pitt is cutting everybody and my wife called and told me he had died. It was kind of freaky.....

I work at my friends comic book store a few days a week. Pretty sweet gig. He just pays me in comics so I can read everything.

Of course I worked roughly 80 hours a week for 20 years to be able to retire and work part time.
