Comcast is using test markets for data caps so that is why some areas have it but, as far as I know, most do not.

It's something their playing with and god help us if they make it reality across the board, especially if they eliminate TWC as competition..

I had Verizon FIOS for three years and let me tell, it's THE BEST. Not only is the TV and Internet excellent but so is their repair techs and their customer service. I remember when I had some issues with my install billing not only did they correct it but gave me three free months of both internet and TV. You'd NEVER see any other carrier do that!

And that was with downloading a ton of software for work (SAS alone was like 30 gigs, rest was probably another 25 combined), Netflix, MLB.TV, gaming, and all my usual internet use. I'm pretty sure Comcast has reasonable caps of at least 150 GB. You all must be downloading torrents 24/7 or you really overestimate just how much data you actually.
I don't even download movies or anything like that (piracy) but I have about 15 devices running off my internet and I have routinely used in excess of 200GB. People SHOULD be worried about data caps IMO, especially with more and more devices coming out that use wi-FI.

Hell just the other day I saw a toaster or juicer or something advertising wi-FI connectability....our data is going to rise a good bit in the next few years if this continues and data caps are going to be a real issue if they get put into place..

They said on the news Charter and TWC are in talks.

              Please no. Charter is awful.
