Honestly, if people can't watch a TV show at 8pm because it's too late, then it's their own fault. 8-10pm is called primetime television for a reason, cause that's when the most amount of people are watching. If you can't watch a show on Sunday at 8pm, don't know what else to say....I really doubt Friday at 8pm is any better....

Not to mention there's something called DVR......If you can't watch a show, just record it! Or watch it online since CBS posts all the episodes on their site too.
The problem was that in the US during the fall, football overruns would push the start time of the show back to anywhere between 8:35 and 8:50. So you never knew when it was going to start, and had to program your DVR for an extra hour. Then in the Spring, you had golf and March Madness overruns. So it wasn't that 8:00 is too late, it's that the show was starting late and at random times each week. That wouldn't be a problem in Canada, but it was for the entire east half of the US.
