Great trailer..Not a big fan of the Luther casting though..Jury is still out on that ofcourse but my first impressions aren't great. Think they should have went with someone older..

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I thought Gina Carrano would have been perfect for the role or if they could pry her away from Marvel (which I don't think would have been much of an issue) Jamie Alexander could have definitely pulled it off.

That will be awesome if they are going this route. Leto looks to really be nailing this version of Joker even though we only saw a few seconds of him.

My Wonder Woman would be Jamie Alexander. She just kills the look.

                Couple photos of her:
                Spoiler

I get that shes has a backup dancer in the Thor movies, but damn that would have been a SLAM DUNK cast from my pov. But whats done is done and Gal Gadot is our girl. She still looks thin as hell but hey, who says Wonder Woman HAS to be full figured? Shes more than looks, I just hope Godat kills it with her performance.

Anyway, Luthor's line about "The Red Capes are Coming", very easy to write it off as a clever reference to Paul Revere and the Red Coats. But something tells me he uses the plural "capes" intentionally. I dont know too many people who can throw Wonder Woman around that easily, and I find it hard to think Superman will attack Wonder Woman for any reason whatsoever.

The awesomeness of this trailer scares me because the trailers for Man of Steel were maybe the best I've ever seen and I've never hated a movie more. Snyder can make trailers, he can't make movies. Hopefully it's done better this time around, Superman fans deserve better

So I'm going to ask a stupid question. But what would you have done with Man of Steel.

I don't like that they're trying to put him in the real world. I understand that what everyone wants is realism after the Nolan trilogy, but Superman isn't real, he's not even close. I was already afraid it was going to be too doom and gloom going into it just knowing what DC wants to do with their universe. Accepting the universe for what it is:

I didn't like any part of the movie that took part on Krypton. They could've cut all of that out. Also, I hated that Jonathan Kent told him "maybe" he shouldn't have saved the kid on the bus, and the way he died, but again, in the universe, I guess it makes sense with Martha now telling him he doesn't owe the world anything. They're just doing a different interpretation of the character than I would like. It's not bad, I just have to accept it. Maybe it was just the origin story and he'll grow more into the Superman that I want to see. They could've had him try to lead Zod away from Metropolis to save some people, or have Zod put people in danger so that he had to save them. The Superman I want doesn't kiss Lois in the wreckage of a burning Metropolis. He'd be in there, as soon as she touched down. This movie will tell me a lot more about the Superman in Man of Steel than Man of Steel did, or at least I'm hoping so.

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice

I pretty much agree with all of the above. I'm sure I've posted more about this in threads than I feel I should or anybody wants to hear about, but Superman is too good. Dude can't die. Okay, there's the Kryptonite angle, but I don't get why he and Zod went all out in Metropolis to basically never hurt or weaken each other even once (until he snaps Zod's neck, which I too think was weak sauce considering all the turmoil they just went through).

I still don't understand how Bats can get a leg up on Supes, but whatevs. Batman can be as smart as he wants, build a suit of armor full of Kryptonite and all that, but a gif earlier showed it just takes one zap right through the mouth slot and he's done. I mean, he's faster than a speeding bullet.

My point in all of this is this becomes a joyless feature when they lower Superman to our level (of realism or what have you). It would be equally as fun to just watch him save the world one human being at a time. Not necessarily stopping muggers and the like, but just being an American or world icon. Obviously they have an angle going on with Batman that changes this whole thing, but it makes me wonder if they were always going this direction since they wrote Man of Steel or if this is just tacked on as an afterthought. I only hope it's the former so they have a real plan in place and aren't just winging it.

Man of Steel was just boring, anyway. The action was numbing, the entertainment factor was drained out, and as DHY26 said the first twenty minutes could have been scrapped completely (made for some dumb plot points later down the road as well). I have much higher hopes and expectations for this film. And maybe I'm just slow or stupid, but do Perry White and Lois Lane know that Clark Kent and Superman are the same person?

Okay, thanks. I didn't know if she was somehow ditzy at the end and was saying "Nice to meet you" in that fashion that he seems familiar to her but can't put her finger on it, if you know what I mean. That always bugged me because I was thinking she must have to know they're the same person. Of course, she was researching him the whole time and has seen him in many forms, but because he was wearing glasses and wore different attire in the end I didn't know if that was a disguise that was working again.

I actually enjoyed the Papa Kent talk and Krypton segments, but I'm one of the few (apparently) that still enjoys Man of Steel despite some of its flaws.

I thought it did a good job of portraying some of Clark's struggles as Superman and the learning curve he needs to ride if he wants to be a true savior.

That brings up another thing, not that is necessary or Superman canon necessarily but that I liked a lot:

Reeves made a point to separate Clark and Superman. He was bumbly and awkward, the glasses, and there's the scene when he's considering telling Lois, and you realize he even slouches all of the time. It made sense that you could look at this guy and not see Superman. I hope Cavill does something similar.

                                Here it is:

                                Spoiler

That's why I say I hope this movie says more about Superman than Man of Steel, because we saw the struggles but we didn't see him react to them. After all the destruction and stuff happens, he still tosses a satellite to the ground, it doesn't seem like he's really learned anything.

I would've liked a movie about Superman first where he fights something that is endangering the world and saves it, and then afterwards you go into the Man of Steel, there's more of him, how do we live with these gods among us stuff. They're immediately going into Superman is the enemy, I want him celebrated more.
