Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
I'll probably jump over to Fargo and The Americans. The first season of Americans was actually really good, but I completely missed the boat on season 2.

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
Well....I loved the SOA series. My wife and I joined in during season 5 and we played catchup every night watching a few episodes until we finally caught up for season 6.
I loved the Sopranos. Im wanting to start a new series now. Tried doing Orange is the new black and I couldnt get past season 1.
I still havent seen Breaking bad so maybe thats nextEA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
I'm starting to watch Season 2 now and prep for Season 3. It's a fantastic show.
Also, if you're looking for Season 2.. there's always a way.
I purchased it, though.. I'm building as much of a library as I can for my tablet for traveling and it's a show I definitely want.Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
My thoughts on the finale was that it was too telegraphed. The 'oh ****' moment came in the previous episode with Unser. I don't think most of us saw that happening. We all knew Pope and Robocop had to go before the series ended. I also knew he was gonna kill himself on his dad's bike the moment Jury told him that his father had done the same.
Even at his worst, Jax still wanted his sons out of that lifestyle. In that moment is when he finally realized his father wasn't weak, he was making the ultimate sacrifice. Awesomely enough, Hunnam's facial expression when he 'heard' that was spot on for that moment in time.
They tidy'd everything up too much for me. They ended pretty much every storyline, left nothing up to the imagination.
I see a lot of people giving flack for the low-speed chase, but it makes sense. He didn't want any of those cops to get hurt or die. He simply wanted his final ride.Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
I think there were two situations that were left open-ended: 1. As much as Jax tried to keep the Club out of harms way, there will be a time they will have to deal with the Kings. 2. Seeing Abel twisting the ring and that look on his face gives you the impression that he too one day might find his way back to the Club. Not monumental situations, but a little intrigue there.Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
Jax's death wasn't going to come unless he wrapped several things up, so a "tidying up" was a necessary component of the finale.
The scene with Chibbs pointing the gun toward Jax's head and then suddenly shooting a very game Happy in the arm made little sense other then playing to the TV audience. Please don't tell me it was ceremonial.Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
You just become more emotionally invested in characters when you watch them over the course of many years versus weeks or months. I know it's kind of cheesy, but when you watch a character over 6-7 years, then they get killed it's almost like losing someone you know or something. With that said there's some show's that I'm glad that I binged watched because certain characters deaths would have really sucked a lot more if I was watching in real time.
There will always be two camps. If Sutter would have done the Sapranos type ending, there would have been one heck of an uproar.

Personally, I liked that they tied most everything up in the end. Like I said before, my biggest problem with the finale was the scene where they shot Happy and all of the symbolism that they suddenly tried. It's like Sutter decided he wanted to be David Chase all of the sudden, but missed the mark completely.
After thinking about it more the only thing that I really would have changed about the ending was the show should have ended at the shot of the crow flying just before Jax drove into the truck. That would have been great because it would have tied in perfectly with the show's opening theme song lines "The crow flies straight, a perfect line". Plus, it would have saved us from that awful green screen scene and spared us the shot of the bread on the side of the road (wth did it get there?) and the blood. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
Yes, the finale was very telegraphed and nothing that happened was remotely surprising but that's fine. I'd certainly take that over some idiotic nonsense like Dexter (though that series was garbage for the better part of 4 years heading up to that point, so at that point who cares), or Sutter trying to get clever and revealing it was all a dream or some ****.
I enjoyed SOA from start to finish, and that's really all that matters. I wouldn't call it a great show, basically a soap opera for dudes and I'm cool with that.Last edited by billmatic; 12-12-2014, 05:17 PM.Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
what was up with the lady bum and wine and bread who gave Jax the blanket??...I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
The wine and bread was a metaphor for Jax being Jesus. Also a foreshadow to the end when you see the blood of Jax spreading to the bread.Comment

Re: Sons of Anarchy [Season 7]
It's not that I wanted open storylines. But, this season moved like a snail. They could have easily tied up a couple things earlier in the year and not had to have useless scenes in the finale.
I'm not upset with the finale, but his direction this season sucked.Comment
