Re: Better Call Saul
Hopefully they're only using Tuco to establish Nacho/get people into the show.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul
I think that's exactly what it is. You don't bring in Mando to play the character if Nacho isn't going to stick around. He'll corrupt Jimmy and turn him into the Saul of Breaking Bad. I can't imagine him not eventually getting killed by Tuco though.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul
Even if you read every spoiler on here, I'm pretty confident you don't know how BB is going to end... and that's a good thing.Oh boy. Watched the first two episodes and loved it, but I haven't finished Breaking Bad yet. My girlfriend and I watched the entire show together but we only made it partway through the final season before she had to move to Malaysia for the year, so I have to wait until November to be able to finish Breaking Bad and am just hoping this doesn't spoil anything for me (though I'm pretty confident I know how Breaking Bad is going to end).Comment

Re: Better Call Saul
Enjoying it as much as others, but you guys who are saying "better than BB" aren't comparing the shows side-by-side, as that's impossible. You're reactions when BB first started, well probably most of the human race were along the same lines. But the novelty of BB is over. This is just a continuance...and a good one at that.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul
I just think the show being this good is proof that Gilligan is a freaking genius.
I don't care that BCS can't truly be compared to BB. But I have no issue wondering if it could be better. That's not me jumping the gun. That's me watching five seasons of BB and seeing a guy who mastered his craft during that time period apply his already learned lessons into his new show.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Better Call Saul
I've really enjoyed both episodes so far. However, my only complaint... well, not really a complaint but more of an observation, is that the story is a little familiar right now.
Basically Saul/Jimmy is playing the Walt role. He gets kidnapped and dragged out to the desert at gun point, but is able to walk away unscathed. Also, he's in that he is being forced to do a job that he really doesn't want to do.
Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill is basically the Gray Matter. The biggest difference is Saul's brother (Chuck) is the one who made the company a success instead of Saul himself. You have to admit, they're a little similar.
Don't get me wrong it's a formula that works and like I said I have been entertained so far. I just hope that it doesn't become "Breaking Bad: 2 The Original One Who Broke Bad" or something. Out of all of the story-lines so far I have to say that I'm the most intrigued by what's going on with Chuck. I'm very curious to see what happens with him because I don't recall Saul mentioning anything about him on BB.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Better Call Saul
I don't know that this is the type of show that would suffer from network TV restrictions. One season Vegas (Quaid and Chiklis) doing gangster stuff on CBS was doomed BEFORE the start. Plus, I don't think Gilligan would sign off to network limitations that would compromise his work.
That being said, if Gilligan thought Battle Creek was a fit for network TV it might not be your cup of tea anyway.
I'll give it a try. I have a lot of confidence in Gilligan and I've like Dean Winters since his first appearance on OZ.Comment

I'm a big fan of both Winters and Duhamel, but the CBS thing puts me off a little too. I just love the character of a used car salesman attorney. I can't wait to see him change his name and get his criminal enterprise rolling.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives
