Re: 2014 Black Friday
My plan is the same as last year. Get whatever I want via Best Buy early access for Elite members. The night of Thanksgiving drink heavily at Applebee's (only place open) and head to Wal Mart around 11 after the chaos has cleared out and find the $3.98 Blu Ray section again. Got the entire Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and Dark Knight series for $3.98 per movie. A long with some other randoms movies. Couldn't believe there were any left that late.Last edited by SuperBowlNachos; 11-07-2014, 02:19 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 Black Friday
Yeah my plan is the same as it's always been. After Thanksgiving dinner and all that my mom and I will stroll into Walmart just after the initial madness rush to look the blu rays.
I'll probably wake up the next day to check Best Buy/Target in the morning for cheap deals as well. Not really looking to get anything big as I won't have a teaching job until Dec 8th.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: 2014 Black Friday
I normally don't do much for Black Friday, honestly. A couple of years ago they were selling recently released games for like $25 at Walmart though, and I jumped on that.Comment

Re: 2014 Black Friday
Due to the Walmart fiasco last year, 90% of my BF purchases were online at Best Buy and Amazon. I stopped going to BB stores on BF years ago. The line is always wrapped around the building.
Walmart has no rhyme or reason to where anything is laid out and you will get ZERO help asking any associate where anything is. The AD says that they have 3 different start times but that's a huge YMMV. I got there at 8 for something that wasn't supposed to go on sale until 10. SOLD OUT
The only safe bet was the items that are guaranteed in stock b/c you'll get a voucher to purchase before Christmas if it does sell out.
All that being said, I don't really NEED anything this year. Still a year away from purchasing a new tv (probably 4k). Maybe a new Garmin GPS.Comment

Re: 2014 Black Friday
Never do it, but we've discussed getting a nice new TV for ourselves.
Best to go out to a physical store, or buy online?NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: 2014 Black Friday
IDK from experience but me and my fiance are looking for a new 60inch tv for our apartment. Gonna stick with amazon or walmart online....not worth dealing with the crazies for like the 4 TV's they usually stock in store as a "door buster."Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

Re: 2014 Black Friday
Keep in mind the hot Amazon lightning deals go by quick. Can only speak for the Walmart I go to, but they always have plenty of the tvs that aren't door busters. When the ad comes out, you'll want to see which ones are guaranteed in stock. So then as long as you're in line you'll get one by Christmas.Comment

Re: 2014 Black Friday
Either should be fine, the TVs that typically sell out are the cheap TVs they are using to get people in the store. You can still get a high end set at a discounted price. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: 2014 Black Friday
Really want to get a 4K TV, so hopefully I can find a model on a good sale. I know Vizio has a 4K model out.. I wonder if they'll discount it for BF already.Comment

Re: 2014 Black Friday
I kind of wish I would have waited to get a new TV because I really wanted a 4k or one of those curved TVs and I think Sam's Club has one of the curved on sale during Black Friday for $50 less then I paid for my TV now.--
