It's official: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are adapting "Preacher" for Sony and AMC, with "Breaking Bad" alum Sam Catlin serving as showrunner and executive producer.

"Preacher" is one of the more acclaimed adult comic book series of the '90s, telling the story of Texas reverend Jesse Custer and his friends as they learn that God has abandoned His place in Heaven and try to track down the Almighty to make Him answer for the sorry state of life on this here Earth. The series features angels, deadly saints, vampires, inbred hillbillies and all manner of depravation. It is a tribute to all the things that series creator Garth Ennis loves about America and American pop culture — the ghost of John Wayne is yet another character, and one of the most memorable story arcs takes place in Monument Valley — and it is a twisted, touching, hilarious piece of work.

I like Garth Ennis "The Boys" better, i think you should look into that too. Maybe if this show does well, that will be looked at to be a show but hopefully HBO picks it up. I think with how big super heroes are in media that a dark comic about super heroes like The Boys can get started on HBO.

So this is coming out pretty soon, May 22nd after Fear of the Walking Dead.

I still can't believe this is coming out lol. If you thought Walking Dead was violent, thats nothing, lots of ****ed up **** going on here. I dunno how its gonna work on AMC honestly unless they really make it different from the comics. It does have potential to be great though.

I got lost in this episode so I will probably re watch. Overall it seems like a decent show.

And Rogen is not in it.

I never read the comic so I had no expectations or pre-conceived notions going in. I thought it was great, I'll watch it as long as it last.

No he's not in it. That's not to say that he won't make a cameo appearance somewhere down the line but no, not in the principal cast.

Loved it, what a crazy *** pilot that was and we aren't to the crazy parts yet wow! Cannot wait for whats to come. I love the casting too, i wasn't sure from the trailers but its looking good. More crazy to come. It is a lot different from the comics (which i guessed it would be) but thats ok, i enjoyed the show a lot.

Great fight scenes too with all the main characters. Some good stuff there.
