I agree. It just seems inane and that it's banking on the appeal from being that some people just want to watch crazy **** happening. Did nothing for me.

I haven't watched it yet, have it saved on my DVR. Hope it is good! Love the comics

I'm pretty impressed so far. Not the easiest comic book to bring to life on the screen, especially television, but they are doing a pretty great job remaining faithful to the spirit of the books IMO. Plot may be a bit different so far but the overall feel is well done

Can't wait to see if they keep it up

I was mostly worried they wouldn't do Cassidy justice but he's alright so far. Tulip kicks ***

We watched the pilot last night on Demand.

It all seemed fairly straight forward to us. I loved the scene with Tulip and the kids.

This has been my only issue with this show. I feel like they introduced him way too soon. Almost like they don't expect to have very many seasons.

I feel this is one of those series that start out all over the place but as the season goes along you start linking different pieces and connect the dots.

They better start doing that soon, I'm almost out. I feel like if you read the comics you might be getting this, I feel like I'm only watching half of a show and missing out on all the context.

Yeah, after episode 3 I called my brother and asked him what he likes so far and he said he basically doesn't understand who anyone is and what's happening in the world around Jesse.

I understand making a show "for fans" but for those not into the books I can imagine a little confusion/uncertainty. they are doing their own thing with some of the plot, which is cool

They started to flesh out Jesse and Tulip a little in episode 3 but haven't really explained much about about anyone or anything else. Maybe that's by design, I dunno. They explained Arseface more than they explained Cassidy.

I really love the show. I want it to succeed. I was shocked that they planted the SoK seed so soon as well. I thought he would show up in the finale as a preview for what's to come in hopefully season 2.

Maybe I'll just let the episodes pile up on my DVR and binge them all, maybe that would be better.

Episode 4 was a little flat, but I felt this one (ep 5) was better.

Still a pretty eccentric pace/rhythm to the show. Kind of marching to the beat of its own drum, which I can appreciate.

Definitely some social commentary in this most recent episode regarding how people interpret "the word of God" (which is what Jesse calls his power in the comic) differently.

Not sure what the ratings are, hope they are doing well enough to get multiple seasons.

The SoK stuff so far has been set up pretty nicely IMO.

Deleted this off my DVR after this last episode. No idea what the long boring old west aside was all about but it did me in. Rest of the episode didn't help, but the west stuff that has no connection to anything was the tipping point.

Yeah unfortunately they might have taken a far too "non-fan unfriendly" approach with this. Without reading the books it probably just seems like a lot of random scenes mashed together.

Which I guess it is, no matter how they slice it.
