Yes, I believe it takes place in the 80s, with DOFP taking place in the 70s, and First Class in the 60s.

Psylocke looks incredible. This is the most excited I've been for an X-Men movie.

I'm excited. I'd be even more excited except I can't piece together all of the films when there are so many plotholes and continuity issues.

Yeah, they're really lacking in overall continuity and direction. Kinda just take them as one offs.

I was under the impression that DOFP was a complete reset anyway. Everything from here should follow a more fluid storyline.

Yeah, we'll see how that goes. Currently a Legion series not connected to anything being made, Deadpool made with a budget for just two X-Men and largely disconnected and a New Mutants in pre production that's intended to 'stand apart' but might have cameos.

They have a long way to go before showing much of a cohesive effort rather than one-shot movies.

The franchise has been dead in my eyes, well before this film. (to me)

For everything I love about the Avengers, and all the individual films everyone else got leading up to their film. I've never liked any of the X-Men films very much if at all with some of them.

Chris Stuckman on youtube gave it an A-. He's a critic I see eye to eye on most movies so I trust his review. I love the X-men more than any comicbook so I'm hoping for a good one. Days of Future Past was one of my favorite movies but feeling it won't be surpassed by this one.

I love the X-men more than any other comic book title as well, but I dislike the X-Men film franchise more than any other comic book film series. To me, they've never gotten it right. Since it's obvious to me that Fox is never going to give me a great X-Men movie my only hope is that they do badly enough to where they have to at least work out a deal with Marvel/Disney, similar to what Sony did with Spider Man.

They got something right with First Class, and then Singer got back in charge and killed it.
