So here's territory that we have to discuss:

How do we deal with book deviations? Obviously, the show is heading into uncharted territory but should we get confirmation that the trajectory of X Character on GoT and X Character from ASOIAF that open discussion is fair game? Or should people just label their spoiler tag in a more detailed manner (e.g. SPECULATION + Book Info + X Character/Event)?

It shouldn't be that hard but if it becomes an issue, THIS is a thread about the TV show. It sounds like with the deviations there may be desire to compare to the book... if that's true, I'd say we need to have a comparison thread for that. With the show being different and episodes being leaked, I could see this turning into everything needing a spoiler or people not even knowing what's safe to say or read.

So to keep it simple, lets keep the discussion in here to past TV episodes and what a TV preview has provided for speculation of future episodes.

BTW, that's coming as an idea not a MOD demand. If anyone has other ideas or has reason to disagree with my assumption, let's brain storm. I'd just hate to see this thread ruined for any of the many different fans (tv only, book and tv, tv and watch ahead, etc.).

Re: the last thought in the book they are important, but we know the show has to cut and trim, events, characters and the like to get the show in under budget. So the events you mention in the book could be shelved this season and used during the 6th with just one or two characters.

was one of my favorite parts of that book. I'd be disappointed if they cut it.

Ever since they revealed that they're going away from the book, my friends and I keep speculating on what will be cut, and hoping some or favorite parts don't get cut. So forgive me for speculating if I'm taking this thread off topic.

The whole point of me reading all 5 books (besides entertainment) was so nothing could be spoiled. I'm one of those people who don't watch full trailers for movies/shows etc. Because I feel they reveal too much. So with the knowledge they're re deviating from the source material and future episodes have leaked I'm almost scared to even use the Internet. Lol

I watch with friends and I never spoil anything even if they ask. I will however explain scenes afterwards if I feel the show didn't convey a storyline well enough.

I see it happening. With the way Melissandre looked at him on the lift to The Wall, it makes the Azor Ahai theory seem pretty likely.

I don't think they're going that quickly with his character though. It was Book 3 he was chosen as the new Lord Commander. Everyone elses storyline has progressed past Book 3 by this point.

Who else got chills when Stannis said "so kneel and rise again as Jon Stark?" That sounds kinda good my man Snow. Also loved the letter with Lady Mormont and Bear Island only bowing to the Kings in the North and "that name is Stark." It's almost like a win for the underdogs of Westeros!

Book reader question since I haven't gotten around to reading the 3rd book; I also don't think they ever touched upon this on the show nor will they ever but to be safe...

Didn't Robb write a letter making Jon his heir and legitimizing him as a Stark before his death?

Brienne, once again, showing she a badass mutha. I also shouted at the TV "Don't you guys do anything to POD!!!"

I think it's going to be a Mereenese civil war for Dany's story. Too many people with opposing views who don't know anything else and this beheading clearly brought her approval rating down among the former slaves. Also, Drogon looked kinda cute. She needs to start getting a hold of her babies.

Wasn't Robb allowed to do that either way since he was Warden of the North (and King in the North, since they were rebelling) during that time?

Wasn't Robb allowed to do that either way since he was Warden of the North (and King in the North, since they were rebelling) during that time?

As Warden he could send a Raven to Kings Landing asking the King to do it. Like the Decree he got making Ramsey a Bolton. The king made that a reality.

Being a book reader my favorite part is finally having a visualization of the House of Black and White. Theres a possible scene inside eventually that im geeked for how the show would visualize.

Depends in how fast they burn through Aryas story and if they keep the same arc. Im hoping though.
