Just a gut feeling but I think Jamie's going to get killed off this season. Both in the books and the show he's been boring and irrelevant since he returned to Kings Landing with one hand. He's slowly creeping up on Dany as being the most boring character in the show.

Interesting episode. Littlefinger leaving Sansa in Winterfell is really weird to me. He's a calculated gambler but that's one enormous gamble he's taking.

I saw a lot of the Internet is PO'd at the final scene and some of it is justified. The Unsullied behaved so uncharacteristically - why are they only carrying spears in the crowded alleys of Mereen? Why did they break formation when they were trapped inside the SOH's temple/building/thing? A bunch of masked guys with knives - just put your shields together and form your little phalanx and you'd be able to dispose of them despite being outnumbered. It didn't seem that believable - I guess they're trying to portray the Unsullied losing their composure in order to try to catch the SOH. Maybe it's just me being more critical since it's TV-only writing/content.

The Sand Snakes - not that it was any good in the books, but that's going to be a rough storyline in the shows. Just not good acting or writing there, hopefully it picks up. The Faith Militant situation would have me so confused if I wasn't a book reader. The stuff at the Wall was cool and Tyrion's story is progressing as it should. Think we should get a monster couple of episodes coming up.

The unsullied are trained with/only have spears right? Never seen them with anything else.

Unsullied battle tactics are based on the legions of the old Ghiscari Empire, involving large groups of them fighting in lock-step phalanxes using spear and shield, though they are also trained to use shortswords for close-quarters combat.
The Unsullied[1][a] are elite warrior-eunuchs bred and trained in Astapor, one of the three major cities of Slaver's Bay. They are slave-soldiers famed for their skills and discipline in battle. The Good Masters of Astapor often sell them to the Free Cities, such as Qohor. It'd make no sense to be the best-trained soldiers in the world and only use a spear. It's simply not a versatile enough weapon.

I agree for the most part. They should have short swords for the street fighting by themselves or small groups. You'd never employ spears in close quarters on offense by themselves. On defense, yes, shield wall with spears and noone is getting through. On the open field against cavalry, unstoppable.

Open field archers would destroy them. Storming walls would be impossible with just spears.

It would really take combined arms. 10,000 of any 1 weapon would get beat easily against any type of combined arms.

They ruined his character from the books imo. From best living fighter in Westeros to whatever he was in the show.

Really good episode, I thought it was the best of the season so far.

Getting a glimpse at the ruins of Valyria was cool, just like how last season we had the brief look at The Land of Always Winter.

It's called greyscale, it's a disease that kills the skin and a lot of the time the person who has it. It's the same disease that Stannis' daughter has(had). The river they were traveling on is infected with it.

Yep. In the previous episode Stannis told his daughter how she got it from a doll he bought for her. And that's why Jorah told Tyrion to not let them touch him.

Well Stannis explained to his daughter Shireen how she contracted it an episode ago while telling her how much he loves her.

He bought a doll for her from a passing merchant ship. He said by the time they burned the doll it was too late. She got it like that so apparently it's even more contagious than simply requiring a touch.
