Really excited to see how the battle for Winterfell turns out, I was PO'd that wasn't included in ADWD. Also excited to see Littlefinger's return to King's Landing and how that plays out. I definitely didn't think they'd include the Tyrion/Greyscale stuff given the differences from the book. Should mesh well though despite the changes.

Did anyone else get an eerie feeling of deja vu when Roose and Ramsey are talking over the map about the upcoming battle and Catlyn and Robb talking about going into the Westerlands? Hopefully the Boltons meet the same fate as the Starks.

Holy crap, Valyria! Wasn't expecting that at all. Cool location to visit especially since it's such a fabled place.

I would assume Jorah can't infect Tyrion yet because he's in the beginning stages. Judging by their beach-front conversation, it doesn't look like they'll get to Mereen until the finale.

Ramsay is such a troll, ****ing love it - when he's not hurting characters I care about. Then he gets trolled by his dad. It's a lot like Tyrion/Tywin, but Roose is more accepting of Ramsay and the **** he pulls. All the Northern stories were intriguing; very excited to see it all unfold.

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 5 (aka A Feast for Crows + A Dance with Dragons)

^^ It's funny, that scene made me realize how rare those comedic moments, intentional or otherwise, have become in the show. That dinner scene was great. Ramsay is by far the most entertaining bad guy in the show at the moment. Which is interesting because there really isn't anyone to hate in the show right now. Joffrey was a legend in that regard, as was Jamie earlier on. The Freys for sure. Roose Bolton is so emotionless that it's hard to hate him despite the Red Wedding. I hate Ramsay because of the books, he isn't quite as bad in the show so far. I always empathized with the wildlings.

It also makes you realize that there isn't a ton of conflict between major characters thus far in S5. S4, like ASOS, tied up so many long-running story lines that new battles and plots need to develop. Outside of Cersei vs Margery there hasn't been much face-to-face conflict.
          • Jon & Stannis are at The Wall and while they're not buddy-buddy they're obviously not enemies.
          • Arya is off training in a world where she knows no one besides Jaquen.
          • Jamie is taking his Spring Break vacation.
          • Cersei is in Kings Landing being as clueless as ever.
          • Brienne is stalking Sansa, mostly from a far, and means well.
          • Sansa is in a precarious situation at least, as is Tyrion to a certain extent.
          • Littlefinger is traveling around Westeros.
          • The Boltons are safe in Winterfell, for now.
          • Dany has been holed up in Mereen and while her forces have taken a hit she's just hanging out in her palace.
          • We won't see Bran this season.

It's not a complaint at all, just an observation. Everyone is really spread out. But there are obviously plenty of conflicts on the horizon - Jamie in Dorne, the Battle for Winterfell, Jon slowly losing the support of his Brothers due to his plan for the wildlings, the Faith Militant, etc. Should mean some awesome stuff is on the way.

Ramsey has officially gone Joffrey-tier. He can't die soon enough now which means he'll probably live until the series finale.

After all the crap they took for the Jamie/Cersi scene at Joffrey's alter....They comeback with that the next season. These show-runners have brass balls.

I've always told my wife that yet I continue watching lol (very compelling).

My wife caught the tail end of yesterday's episode and said "still watching that masochistic show huh".

If that ending scene was the scene some poster was referring to (about it being uncomfortable to shoot), it wasn't too bad. But damn did I feel uncomfortable.

Seriously, the whole time I was telling my girl that it wasn't going to happen, I thought she was going to pull some type of knife out of her dress. Then, once that didn't happen I comforted her by saying the Reek/Theon was going to 'wake up' and kill him. Then when it rolled to credits I just laughed, wow.

Even when you're expecting the worst they still out do themselves man, after her whole bathtub scene I thought Sansa was ready to play the game, apparently not.

I've read that Martin wrote these books to counter the fairy-tale ending you see in most stories. He wanted to write a fantasy series that went against the common theme of that genre.

Oh no Ive been hit over the head with what RR Martin theme of these books is. That is the main reason why I dont get attached to his characters anymore. Im in full diminishing returns mode with this show holding out some hope for a satisfying ending. But its unfortunately not something I look forward to with joy anymore.

Like I said earlier, cant wait to see how Sansa messes up getting revenge for her family. And side note, if they use this rape as a means to "wake up" Theon of all people, I will have lost all hope with this show's direction.

And additional side note, the Sand Snakes...I cant take them seriously.

My reaction when they come on the screen:

Yeah, I don't know the point of the Sand Snakes because they haven't done anything but fight Bronn and Jaimie to a draw (3 vs. 2), and then get busted. I thought they'd be badass with all the build-up.
