Valyrian steel is believed to be dragon steel. Valyrian steel was forged with "magic" using dragon fire. I have a feeling that Dragons can wipe out the White Walkers. I believe at some point somehow, Jon Snow will be seen riding a dragon.
Dany and Tyrion are going to make a very interesting couple. She's going to try to upset the applecart and destroy the system and bring down the major houses. If she bides her time, I would think she could use the White Walkers to her advantage if indeed the Dragons can destroy them. Let the White walkers create enough fear and havoc before intervening that anyone who would stop them would be immediately embraced as a savior.
Tyrion raised an interesting question though, if she was to get the throne back, then what? She wants sunshine and lollipops for everyone, but she's already seen that it's a bit more complicated than just telling people that they are free.
Someone else brought up an interesting point. What if the White Walkers aren't just pure evil. What if they have a purpose beyond just killing and making the world undead. The White Walker King seemed like a decent enough of a guy before he was turned being leader of the Night's Watch. It would be interesting hearing their motives. I doubt they are like Sauron just unleashing hordes of evil just for evil's sake. What drives them from the north?
