I pretty much stopped caring after the 4th or 5th episode of the season but I kept watching for whatever reason.

Definition of mindless. Wish it made me laugh more though.

Agreed. I really enjoyed the first season. Sad that it's over.
Not sure there was one character or episode I disliked (other than Vern's childhood friend, but he played a great jerk and kept things interesting).

It likely won't matter if they try, only reason the other show was taken off ESPN when NFL got mad was because ESPN is an NFL lap dog channel that depends on NFL rights for success, HBO has nothing to lose if NFL is mad at them, not like any of the teams really want to be on hard knocks anyway

Ummm they could lose Hard Knocks, which is a pretty big show for them.

Hard Knocks is not a big show for HBO. It'd be a big show for Showtime or Starz, but not at all for HBO.

If you watch to the end of Ballers (or any HBO show) take a look at all of the Emmy nominated shows/characters they have... just this year. They don't need Hard Knocks.

Exactly. Also HBO has already green lit season 2. The NFL has no pull with HBO.

Hard Knocks is only 5 hours of programming. Losing it wouldn't hurt HBO at all.

I don't know, call me crazy, or maybe I'm up in the clouds a little too high...

But I feel, that even though the main points of the show have been drugs, girls, and concussions, they are actually trying to teach a lesson about each negative point.

When Vernon was hit with those pictures, Strasmore lectured him about making the right choices and having the right people around him to avoid situations like that. It felt like a rookie seminar from the NFL.

Strasmore's GF kept asking him to see a doctor about his possible concussions. When he finally did go, he was cleared with no problems. And they even hinted at psychological evaluations needed for him.

So I feel like this is completely different than what Playmakers portrayed the NFL as. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think on Playmakers, they had a player in a murder investigation and the drug use was not recreational, but more in the form of steroids and popping pills.

This show is really weird to me. I watch it for The Rock and will most likely continue to, but nothing happens. I really sit down for a half hour and watch the episodes and feel like nothing is happening. I was hoping for some type of big twist at the end of the season, but they ended up staying put.

I like the show but like I said it's weird. It's not really that funny, or dramatic. Not even close to Entourage, but I'm hoping something changes for next season. Joe probably can't be Ari, but maybe him and Spencer will have some more weight to throw around with the new promotions.
