Anyone mentioned Vice Principals yet? Its the followup to Eastbound and Down and is again on HBO. Looks hilarious.

Ditto....very, very bad. I suffered through 2/3 of the first episode.

Despite the outrageous assets of Christina Hendricks and the likability of the two leads (including Michael K. Williams), I'm folding on Hap And Leonard after two episodes.

Gonna try out the premiere for this Heartbeat show on NBC. Not sure if I've even seen previews for it, but based on this:

Based on the real life of Dr. Kathy Magliato, ``Heartbeat'' focuses on outspoken and high-achieving heart-transplant surgeon Dr. Alex Panttiere, who is a beautiful woman in a field dominated by men. Bold and stubborn, Alex does things on her own terms, celebrating her racy -- and complicated -- personal life and successfully managing the day-to-day demands of faculty members and interns who remain skeptical, while still finding time to impress by pushing the boundaries of medical science.
sounds horrible. But hey, I'll give it a go

My wife asked me to set the dvr for a series that starts on Thursday called, The Catch.

Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos) is LA’s top private investigator — and the one woman you don’t want to mess with. But when her fiancé (Peter Krause) cons her out of millions and disappears, Alice goes on a private mission for payback. No matter where it leads or the secrets she must keep along the way, Alice will stop at nothing to catch her man.

              I'll give it a look.

The 3rd episode of Crowded that aired this past Sunday night was a bit more entertaining.

It's good and sophisticated. They're not spies but it's got a Spy VS Spy angle to it, and con man Peter Krause has a lot of redeeming qualities.

The Grinder is too good to get canceled but it doesn't look good. It is my new number one comedy.

For me it's the latest in a long line of "why don't people like this show?" to likely get axed

it feels like too many people still need laugh tracks to tell them when something funny happened

I like it also. I won't miss it, but it is a lot better than the other new comedy that FOX will probably renew.

Do you mean Grandfathered? I've been confused why that show has enough ratings to get another season and The Grinder hasn't. At first I figured it was the Stamos effect, but wouldn't Lowe and Savage have the same nostalgia draw? Unless people are already accustomed to Lowe from other shows, and maybe they still relate to Savage as a chilid. Idunno, I overthink this stuff too much, but it annoys me when clever shows don't get the viewers, even though the Grinder isn't anything special, seems better than Grandfathered though. Must be the family dynamic

Yeah that's the one. I watched 1 episode and was done. It has Stamos and a story, but wasn't interesting or funny. The "cute" story is probably keeping enough people around.

FOX should cancel both based ratings, but then they would have no successful new comedies this season.

Clever also doesn't work for most comedies on broadcast TV.

That's where we differ l3ulvl. I think it's the best comedy on TV right now. At least the best of what I watch [Big Bang, Brooklyn 99 (which OSers seem to have abandoned), Modern Family, Always Sunny, etc.]
