Yes I did. It won't even let uninstall the drive. I am trying not to have to pay someone because I know it something simple. I know the drive is working because it worked fine before I upgraded.

Go into device manager, disable it and then uninstall it. Try to then add it in device manager after restarting.

            http://ccm.net/forum/affich-74993-ma...-10-wont-start

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:

            1. Click Start
            Collapse this imageExpand this image
Start button, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
            2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
            HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
            3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
            4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
            5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
            6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
            7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

The system will automatically rebuild the registry records when you restart your computer.

                  Re: Windows 10

Remember when we were told that Windows 7 is supported until 2020? Windows 8 is supported until 2023? Well, seems that some news has recently come out that some may or may not know. Don't forget, July 29th 2016 is the date that Microsoft will no longer offer Win10 for free. Whether this means something or nothing, it does raise an eyebrow.

Microsoft has announced it will now stop support for installations of Windows 7 or Windows 8 if they are on new or upgraded computers running the latest chips from Intel INTC, AMD or Qualcomm QCOM. Specifically these are listed as ‘Kaby Lake’ (Intel), ‘Bristol Ridge’ (AMD) and Qualcomm’s ‘8996’ (the base for the Snapdragon 820). Between them these chips will dominate sales of all new desktops, laptops, hybrids and tablets in 2016.

In fact Microsoft is going even further than this by also refusing to support Windows 7 and Windows 8 on Intel’s current generation ‘Skylake’ processors, with the exception of a “list of specific new Skylake devices”. This list includes the Dell Latitude 12 and XPS 13; HP EliteBook Folio and G3 and Lenovo ThinkPad T460s and X1 Carbon. Even then support on those devices will only last 18 months ending on 17 July, 2017.

                  http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonke.../#7276fe137ef2
But July 17th, 2017 is the killer. This is the last possible date Microsoft will allow Windows 7 or Windows 8 to be used on a cutting edge computer and still receive essential support like security patches. If this sounds a bit odd that’s understandable because Windows 7 and Windows 8 were meant to be supported until 14 January 2020 and 10 January 2023 respectively. But under the new rules that only applies if your hardware stays in the dark ages.

Right now these rules are being forced on businesses only, but there seems no reason it won’t be expanded to consumers. Microsoft isn’t fooling anyone, even traditional allies are angry. But the real fear for Windows 10 owners is not that this date hurts Windows 7, which is on 55% of computers worldwide, but what it says about Windows 8 and its 10% market share…

I think I read where they're treating Win 8.1 as a different entity from 8, and will be supporting it for years. Could be wrong though, and I'm at work and can't look it up now.

The update for Windows 10 is back, even for those on windows 7 or 8 who removed it, or just tried hiding it. For some, it's listed under optional, for others it's listed as important.

Microsoft is getting real annoying. If people don't want it, stop forcing it on them!

Personally I want MS to not have as many people on legacy versions.

Apple touts this with iOS not being as fragmented as Android...

As a developer it blows to have to support old versions of IE that don't support anything current.

I get the desire to upgrade when it makes sense, but at the same point the end goal of MS is admirable IMO. Too many people stick with old, crappy, insecure OS versions.

It's free for a few more months and then you have to buy it.

I dont think windows 10 needs to be demonized any further.

Its a free OS upgrade. 7 was cool but ita getting dated

8.1 was what it was before and after.... 10 takes up less resources than both and trying to move on into the future

I get it though the antagonizing people should stop...however apple wont allow you to do certain things without updating certain apps too
