Re: Windows 10
2) The snap feature is a lot smarter. You can drag a window to fill up a quarter of the screen in one of the four corners. Also, any time you snap one (say to half of the screen), the computer thumbnails all of the other windows you would like to choose to be the other half of the screen. When you widen or narrow one window, the other automatically follows.
3) Great customizable start menu.
4) Much better file copying interface, telling you the progress of completion, the rate of copying speed, and when there are multiple identical files it allows you to compare and contrast by checking them off altogether instead of waiting for each file one at a time.
5) Advance cloud features, though I haven't tried and used all of them.
Then there are some other things that I think is just computer-specific that I can't say is for all Windows 10, such as the RealSense 3D camera that uses facial recognition software to log me into my computer, or the touch screen monitor, or the overall hardware processing speeds, etc. But Cortana is great for navigating around the computer, either through voice or otherwise, and a lot of apps are universal with other Microsoft products.
Furthermore, the upgrade is free! Unless you're like me and had to get a new computer.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Sweet. Thanks for the little breakdown. Sounds great! I always thought file transfers/copying/etc needed a bit more detail to them. It's a bit confusing when the "this file is a duplicate" menu pops up in Windows 7. Often times I feel like I'm clicking something and don't really know EXACTLY what's gonna happen.Comment

1) It has Cortana. Basically Siri for Windows.

One of the biggest things for me is the fact that it takes up less resources to run than both 7 and 8.
At some point tech starts feeling dated and though i never thought I'd say it, 7 started feeling that way.
10 seems like a mix of 7 and 8 without 8's awful bugs and incompatible drivers, etc..
and as you mentioned its free so it's a no brainer really. I know alot of fear mongering was going on before , but thats been unfounded.Comment

Re: Windows 10
Well it looks more like Win 10 will bypass me when it's free offering ends Friday, July 29th. My NVIDIA GeForce is not compatible. Guess it will be a new pc down the road for me unless I upgrade in the next few days.
Then again, I could wait until August 2nd if I was crazy enough
Spoiler
NVIDIA TITAN X has 11 TFLOPS of power, 3584 CUDA Cores, 12GB of 10Gbps GDDR5X VRAM, a 384-bit Memory Interface, 480 GB/sec of Memory Bandwidth, boosts to 1.5GHz out of the box, utilizes superior heat dissipation vapor chamber cooling technology, and features a stunning design. It is, without question, the world’s ultimate graphics card.

Re: Windows 10
For fellow Windows 10 users, watch out for the "Anniversary Update". Decided to do it via Windows Update wee hours last night, it's more of what Windows 8.1 was to Windows 8. A chunk of my settings were reset and had to go back through services to trim the fat again.
Others are reporting that it cleared their Firefox profiles etc.Comment

Re: Windows 10
Didn't get any hits in the PC building thread but then I just saw this one...
probably a stupid question....my PC internal drive is 1TB ...just got external of same size. Want to back up important stuff and put in fire box. Should I copy/ paste or is it better to use Windows backup? Thoughts or insight?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Windows 10
I read some other issue somewhere else but can't find what it was that made me ponder downloading it before I saw this thread updated.
Mine is stable right now so im not really wanting to mess with anything.
Just resetting settings is okay, i can always fix that.
What are the good changes/benefits though?Comment
