Saw it yesterday.

This is really fantastic. I always thought the claims that Pixar was declining were a little over-blown. Cars 2 wasn't good, sure, but I thought Brave and Monsters University, while not top-tier Pixar, were both great movies in their own right. This film, though, is a masterpiece.

I spoke of this somewhere, can't find it but I know I did: I wondered what this movie would look like if it only showed Riley on the outside, without any cuts inside her head including the emotions' thoughts. I even code-named it Inside Out: Outside Edition.

Well, while I won't receive any credit for this thought since the Reddit community appears to have taken it by storm in the past 48 hours, my prayers have still been answered. They did the editing the best that they could given what they had, and it somewhat works as a nice "short," even though it's a bit clunky.

What I do wish is that Pixar tried their hardest to storyboard this part first and then fit the inside parts in sequence, so everything would feel very natural. This doesn't quite have the best flow, but it's still an okay story that is being told.
