I did think it was strange how they were able to get all the walkers to the base. Like he was able to just unlock the doors of the forum, and then casually stroll all the way to the military with hundreds/thousands of walkers following him.

      1. I felt like the Ofelia scene was not really about the Andrew, Ofelia, or Oscar. I think it was to show that Travis is no longer that nice guy that he was being portrayed from the start of the show. The fact that he let Andrew go to save his life, only to have him come back and betray his trust as well as put his family in danger finally made him realized that the world isn't the same anymore. Also if you remember, Oscar called him "weak" in the first episode.

      2. As for Strand, I do feel like he's some sort of scientist working on a cure for the infection before it broke out. All the lavish things he had was paid for by the government to keep his mouth shut. That's the reason why he was calm when he grabbed his cuff links. He had experience with them before so he knew what he was doing.

Also for the first time, in a long time, I actually believed that Nick was going to die last night. I knew someone big had to die for the finale, so I figured that was the perfect opportunity, but glad they didn't cause I like Nick and Strand.

Do you guys think that there was any significance to the long shot of the ocean? It kind of looked like there was something in the water, but I'm not sure if it was just like a reef or seaweed or if it's some hint at something.

Honestly thought they were going to show Hawaii or Japan and it would be full of people calmly walking around.

But no, I don't think there was any significance other than a cool shot to show us that they were basically at the end of their road and had no other option but to turn back into the abyss.

This was my immediate thought. Though I'm guessing based on earlier reports, it hardly started in LA. But he kind of did let the madness in LA start with releasing those walkers.

The thing i love the most about Strand is that this is the first time, in either show, that i felt like a character knew substantially more about the situation than us viewers do.

Some thoughts about last night's finale.....

                - I'm also puzzled as to why Strand was in that holding area. Wasn't aware of his fortunes until we saw his home and his Abigail. And may I say from the far shot, she looks like a beauty.

                - Those who live in LA found an easy non-traffic route to the seaboard. No deserted cars, but all clear...LOL

                - The soldier had his gun pointed at Daniel and then instead shoots Ofelia in the shoulder? Tough love.

                - The long shot of the ocean and the Talking with Fear after the show confirms that the next season they're going to be boarding The Abigail as home as they travel the Pacific coast.

AMC's 16 part of FTWD - Flight 462 is only about 1 to 2 minutes long.

Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462 will continue next weekend, with episode 2 airing during the sixth season premiere of The Walking Dead, as well on AMC’s mobile app, before appearing online.

Maybe Strand was in the holding area because he made a deal to save his wife when she was infected. They took him instead of her. He clutched a picture frame when Nick was talking to him. Made me realized that it was most likely his wife/daughter in the picture.

Strand is incredible, the guy has a freaking cruise ship parked in the ocean ready and waiting? wow lol
If I remember correctly, captive Army guy said it was a shelter for people. Of course, I'm sure people infected got in there and started rising up and it turned into a buffet. Army guy said when they arrived, they couldn't tell the living from the dead, so they locked everybody up inside.

The compound was close to the arena, at least I remember the old man saying it was nearby. And to stay in front of a herd, all you gotta do is lightly jog....they have a one track mind.

Oh I wasn't worried about them following him, I meant more how he had no problem letting a couple thousand zombies just follow him and he didn't break a sweat. It seems like they really pick and choose when the zombies are fast and powerful and when they are easy to handle. In the early episodes of TWD, which was still further into the outbreak than this is at now, they could run, and even climb fences iirc.

Just minutes later the zombies were quite aggressive in the kitchen.

I agree. They are written to act as necessary for the scene.

Re: Fear The Walking Dead (Season 1)

I see I'll be in the minority with this, but I've lost almost all interest in this show.

I feel like they skipped through what was the biggest drawing factor to the show, seeing society collapse. Instead, they spent the night in a barber shop, and then the show skips a few weeks down the timeline to the neighborhood being quarantined.

Another problem for me is the characters, I find myself rooting for all the other characters to get killed. The teenagers are beyond annoying, the old barber guy is such a prick I was actually glad to see his reaction when he found out his wife died, his daughter is conniving, Travis is a weak and impotent dad, and I can't get past the inability of the actress playing Travis' wife to show any emotion. With TWD, you could get behind most of the characters, and even the sketchy ones there was depth to them. Now Strand is intriguing however. Never have I seen a show where I want to see every character (save Strand) axed.

To me, it would've been more intriguing to see one of the main characters be either a scientist, doctor, government official, someone directly involved with the attempts to solve the issue, that would be a great vehicle to show the breakdown of society and the madness that ensues.

I ended up taking the show off my DVR list, and if I happen to catch the season premiere, fine, if not, no big deal.

Strand character might just been created after Original Freeway Rick Ross.

This is also a good point, if FTWD was intended to be different than TWD, why escalate into madness so quickly, especially after the initial delay? It's as if the reception for the first 4 episodes was weak so to save matters they kicked it up a notch and went right into apocalypse mode.

I'll admit I'm a sucker though, the military stuff and the sudden walker explosion worked on me
