Survivor: Cambodia(Second Chance)

Season starts Wednesday September 23rd(aka Tomorrow!) at 8pmEST. Will be a 90 minute premiere.



As everyone knows already, the cast is 20 former contestants who got voted back into the game by fans. Unfortunately the ballot was filled mostly with players from newer seasons,but fans did good job voting in almost all the "old school" options.

Of all the names who didn't get voted in, real surprised Troyzan isn't back in the game. He was one of the only good things about that season. Brad(from blood vs water) was the biggest villain of that season and not voted back in either.

Still though, really looking forward to this season. Probably more than any season since Heroes vs Villains. Kelly from S1, 1 vote away from winning that season. Survivor history wouldn't be anywhere close to the same if she beat Richard. Though by todays jury standards,I think if she had a jury like ones we've seen the past few years,she might have actually beat him.

It's always fun getting to go back and look at how my predictions compared vs how season went.Since I started posting predictions on OS...

One World-Wanted Kim to win the entire time

Philippines-Had no real idea who I wanted to win. 3 returning players were my main faves,and Malcolm. None of my faves won,but still happy with who won it.

Caramoan-Brenda,Malcolm,Cochran were my fave 3. Cochran won at least.

Blood vs Water-Tyson was one of my early faves and he did end up winning

Cagayan-1 of my faves did make it to finals,but Tony surprised me the most. Just thought he was a stereotype pick but he ended up being a real good player.

Blood vs Water 2-My pics for that season went horribly. People I thought I'd hate the most,made it the furthest.

Worlds Apart-Two of my top predictions ended up being the first few people voted out lol. The winner is someone I thought would make it to merge,but not be good gameplayer,though he turned out to be really the only person at the merge I cared about.

So,my cast assessment this year:
(not actual spoilers,just my thoughts on people)

Joe-Liked him on Worlds Apart,though he seemed to have no social game, just relied on winning comps.

Vytas-One of the stand out people from that good Blood vs Water season. Should've gone further,but everyone was too focused on getting him and his brother out.

Spencer-Didn't like him from the start of his season,but he ended up being one of the better people from that season,prob played 2nd best game out of everyone that year.

Jeremy-Thought he would've done much better that season. Was one of my picks to do well that season.

Terry-I guess it's why they didn't want to cast too many "old school players". I forgot about him abit,but them remembered,he's the challenge dominating guy in the first hidden immunity idol season.

Ciera-Another one of the good players from Blood vs Water. One of the better female contestants Survivor has had in awhile.

Stephen-Tocantins was great season. Him and JT in the F2 was one I really liked alot. Hope he does well this year too.

Tasha-Didn't expect anything from her last time around,but then she came out and became a huge challenge threat(one of biggest runs Survivor has ever seen).

Abi-Maria-She was always annoying lol. Sounds like she's gonna be that way again. Really was a villain on her season.

Woo-Stupid decision he made that cost him the game by taking Tony to F2 with him,but I liked that since I wanted Tony to win lol. Played huge floater game that season,but it worked.

Kimmi-I watched Australian Outback earlier this year,lol her most famous moment being that she was on recieving end of that Alicia finger wave. Still doesn't eat meat,wonder how she does on Survivor this time...

Peih-Gee-I really don't remember her at all. Though to be fair,I hated Survivor China, which sucks to say since I really liked James and Amanda(two of my fave players ever). Could've been avoided,if James didn't do one of stupidest things ever(voted out with 2 hidden idols!)

Kass-Hated her so much on Cagayan,really hope she goes early this season.

Keith-Prob just voted back cause people remembered him the most,probably just for his "spit takes".

Shirin-Sure,she's crazy,but I think I was one of few people who liked her abit.

Monica-One of the people in the long line of Russel victims lol. All I remember from her is that she did nothing beforehand but then had a crazy 2-3 days where she went all out to try and completely change the game,but failed.

Andrew-Actually don't remember him much from Pearl Islands lol.

Jeff-If it wasn't for the Skupin fire injury,I think Jeff would've made it far in that season. Didn't really care for his game much though. Was victim of the original survivor tiebreaker rule(where past tribal votes determined who gets voted out in tiebreaker situation).

Kelley-Thought she was gonna be good on her season,but really didn't do anything much at all.

Kelly-Part of the original Survivor alliance. Who knows what Survivor would be like today,if it'd even be around, had she won over Richard. She's one of the players I've most wanted to see return simply cause of the fact that she's the original runner up on Survivor,was 1 vote away from winning it,and was part of a completely diff game compared to how Survivor is today.

Surprised nobody talking about the 1st episode.

Watching parts of it, does make me miss the old school Survivor days. When the beginning was about camp life, shelter,food and all that. It was about the adventure, not the paranoia and strategy.

I hope the old school players go far. I think his rep will make him too big of a target,but I really want Terry to go far. Same goes with Kelly.

They used an idea I suggested to them! It was the idea of hiding the idol in plain sight. At tribal or a challenge. They hid the idol right at the challenge lol! Wonder if they'd do it at tribal one year, that'd make for a huge clutch moment. Finding an idol seconds before being voted out.

One of my F3 picks out already. That's another thing about my Survivor predictions. I post a couple of my faves,and one of the top ones seems to be one of(if not the) first out.

I'm surprised she took so long to go and get the idol. I guess she wasn't going to get it if they won. Going to be interesting if they continue to put clues out there with the idol being gone and the clues say in the it's in the challenges.

Going to tribal right away was good, but it will only work 1 time for each tribe.

Really wish they wouldn't give them anything, so it's more about survival, not being able to game right away.

That's what they want more in the shows, it being more about the game than about survival,adventure and stuff. Which is why they cut out intros from the show,and don't have challenges go as long anymore,or have reward and immunity challenge separate. They want to show camp stuff as much as possible.

The other tribe has hidden idol too don't they? It wouldn't just be 1 combined between the 2. So I'm guessing the other tribe would have an idol at the challenge also.

But what if someone finds the clue for a past challenge? Or will they just remove the clue and replace it in the same location with a clue for the next challenge,each time until someone finds the idol?

I must be getting old because 5 or 6 of the cast I do not remember at all and I've seen every season.

lol. I remember close to all of them. Only ones were Terry,Andrew,"PG".

Terry, even though I watched his season and liked him, I still forgot about him. Once I remembered who he was, then it clicked, cause I hadn't seen him on TV in like 10 years. And it's easier to forget people in Survivor when there's 2 seasons a year meaning over 30 castaways a year. So that's probably about 250 or so(when you factor in returning players) castaways playing since he was on.

Though some of them I really don't remember. "PG" and Andrew I don't remember at all,even after reading their profiles and finding out what they did in their seasons,I still don't remember it.

And Kelly I'd never forget simply cause she was one of the original Survivors and really could've beaten Richard with a diff jury,but back then obviously game was so diff. And Kimmi/Jeff I remembered probably just cause I watched Survivor Australia earlier this year.

Kelley also has advantage for now too, not just having idol, but if she plays it, she knows it's gonna be re-hidden at a challenge most likely. Or could even look for other tribes hidden idol at the next challenge. Cause she's only one right now who even knows the idol is hidden at a challenge.

That would be hilarious to see someone go over to the other side and try to get an idol.

I really like the new concept of the HII. I hope it stays that way and doesn't revert back to hiding it in camp.

If they were to hide the HII in a group setting, that can be accessible but can't be seen, players won't even need clues.

Anyone on Kelley's tribe could have accidentally placed their hand under that stand and felt the object. I think once word gets out that Kelley found it during a challenge, everyone will start looking for it.

But my only gripe with the first HII is that the table looked so far away from Kelley when they first showed it. Then when she went to grab it, she took 1 maybe 2 steps and reached under and took it. Didn't seem that risky since everyone was too focused on the challenge. If it was 4-5 steps away, it would have been more exciting.

I thought it was at the one in the back, not the one in front.

The issue is that depending on where the idol is at, it could cost you in the challenge. Let's say its under one of the floating torches they were lighting. How would you get that without calling attention to it? If your tribe is going to lose and you know it or you know you will be voted out next, you just start looking for the idol and not even doing the challenge.

lol, I think it'd be funny if in an individual immunity challenge, people find a clue to the idol, and at the beginning of that challenge, most of the contestants abandon the challenge to go look for the idol. So it'd be like a scavenger hunt and immunity challenge in 1.

I think that's the whole risk/reward scenario with the new concept. Which is perfect. Too many times good players found idols because everyone was too lazy to look for it.

Now the idol is there but it comes with risks.

Imagine Survivor Auction. 500 gets you a clue to where the idol is but you must share the clue with everyone willing to pay. That right there should be a challenge by itself.
