Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6

The best part of this season is that even the filler episodes are good. Sam taking his dad's Valyrian steel sword (which has to serve a purpose eventually because you know, White Walkers), Dany riding Drogon, incestuous love on more than one account, and Arya finally getting somewhere.. this episode didn't do much, but it did it well.

Really wanted to see Jamie kick some ***, but oh well. Benjen made up for it.

Had a feeling it would be, being a holiday weekend and all but solid ep nonetheless.

Agree 100%. Given the one "return" we saw and the events in the Riverlands, I have new found hope of Lady Stoneheart possibly being a part of the show/series before its all said and done.

Yea, completely felt like a filler. I didn't mind it though.

Another random thought. How many rah-rah speeches can Dany make. I know that D&D can't do much given the source material, but until she actually lands in Westeros her story is this giants 360. I mean we are back at season 1 with her. Walk out of a pyre with a Dothraki hoard at her back and dragon(s) making proclamations about what she is gonna do.....yawn.

Exactly my thought....the show is just going tooo slow right now and they need to refocus more parties into one unifying theme..The daenarys storyline has been so weak, nothing moving forward in the grand scheme of things. And arya, my goodness, did it really need to take this long to draw her line in the sand with the long haired freak? I was gonna flip if she said a girl has no name one more time, and how many times did she have to duel with the freak's sideshow?

I love the show, but this season has been pretty underwhelming if i have to be honest. Another direction i dont like is the the religious fanatics....what purpose does it serve? The storylines are becoming more disjjointed every episode it seems.

Another was confirmed today as well, though not on the show:

                Spoiler

Not a major one, but one that has been heavily hinted at and talked about for a long time. The other candidates were Hodor(still plausible, I'm getting thoughts of "Hold the door" at Summerhall) and Grenn(or was it Small Paul?) of the Night's Watch.

This Tommen guy is making me miss Jeoff.

Also like that they showed exactly how outnumbered that military was to the poor people in the crowd. They would be swarmed if they attacked the faith militant.

Yea, but who's gonna attack well armored, well trained soldiers. One of them is worth 10 of the crowd. It would be a slaughter.

I love Arya finally realizing who she is. She's going rogue, and that's what I wanted to see.

                    Tommen sucks.

I don't think Marjorie is that weak like Tommen, she has something planned, she's intelligent, or is trying to keep the peace, to protect Solares.

Definitely felt like a filler but still really enjoyed it. Super stoked on Benjen being back. Got ourselves another Stark. Hope he lasts awhile. Arya getting ready to branch out and be the little rouge assassin I knew she always could be is awesome. I hope her first hit is that bitch that is coming after her. Was disappointed with the whole high septon stuff again. Was ready for some sweet Jamie Lannister *** whooping to go down and then that little dick Tommen pusses out. Man what a let down. Some Blackfish and Riverlands mentioning has me pumped for that scenario to play out. Lady Stoneheart maybe? The Brotherhood Without Banners was mentioned. Good stuff. Really liked the Samwell stuff too. I totally forgot they had a Vylarian sword. Snagging it will obviously help in the future fight. Didn't really need another Dany speech but Dragon was sweet.

That old man has something planned himself, and now he's got the king with him, as weak as he is, he's still a king, and people respect the crown. and now the sparrows have aligned themselves with the King.

                              That old man is brilliant.

Very true, however something tells me Cersei will get the last laugh on this one.

My main question is what is Marjorie's true stance
