IIRC, RB first appeared in the second book, so that would have been the late 90's.

Edit: A Clash of Kings was published in 1998.

Hmm was he as bad in the books as the series? Or can we expect an even worse character to arrive in the next book?

Maybe it's Tommen. He would fit really well as the good guy breaking bad thanks to his mother.

I left characters like Ramsay and Joffery. Not sure if that says more about the characters and the actors who play them or me...

The Ramsey stuff is getting old. Guy is just chilling in his castle and gets Rikkon? Just makes it hard for me to care about his storylines when he just lolramseywins all the time.

The dude who captured Rickon and Osha cracked me up. He was certainly not impressed by Ramsey or Karstark.

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6

Can we get this show moving again.

It seems like they castrated or killed most of the best characters.
Tywin Lannister, The Hound, Joffrey, Baratheon have all been killed off.
Jamie Lannister was a bad motha throwing kids out of windows and now he's a soft kitten.

And doesn't it seem like everyone is just stuck somewhere?
Dragon girl was stuck in the pyramid for a whole season and now she's stuck at Del Boca Vista for former Khal wives.
Jamie and Cercei are stuck in their castle.
Bran is stuck in a treehouse talking to a dude with trees growing out of him.
The Imp is stuck in the pyramid.
The real Queen is stuck in jail.
Arya is stuck in the Many Faces. How much longer before she actually does anything cool? Or is The Girl going to remain boring for another season?
Jon was stuck at the wall for a season and a half. He's finally out, but will he spend the next 7 episodes walking and talking to flowers?

I think back to all the action from the first four seasons and wonder where that's all gone.
Every episode was awesome and left you despising having to wait another 7 days for more GoT's.
IMO, since the novels have dried up, the writing and pace have taken a disctinct nose-dive.
It's painfully obvious that the producers are trying to stretch this out and make as much money as possible regardless if the quality suffers - which it clearly has.
Now that there is no real source material to follow, things have fallen off the tracks.
I actually fell asleep during last nights episode. Something that would have never happened in the first four seasons.

I had to laugh at the scene where Tyrion is begging for some meaningful conversation from the Sullied and his girlfriend. That's how I feel! Give me something!

I know some of you are still loving this show and I'm genuinely glad.
Some will get ticked at my frustration and I understand that too.
But I'm just so disappointed in the direction this show has taken since the end of Season 4.
Give me some characters to care about again. Give me a story arc I can care about again.
Just get this show moving, please!

I hear you, Money99. I think they're setting up for a more eventful second half of the season. There are a ton of story threads competing for screen time and they are covering a lot of backstory with Bran. I think things will get moving pretty soon.

I'm looking forward to see where Jon is headed next.

After the first couple of episodes it felt like we got half an episodes worth of plot development this week.

The Ramsay story line is getting old. We get it. I think we were supposed to by shocked that he got Rikken. But I was thinking who cares. The STarks already have reason enough to thrash him. Hopefully the Wildling does something gnarly to him, but you know it's going to be Snow that retakes winterfell.

The mother of Dragons can stay in the retirement home for all I care, but everyone knows the end game is going to be her, Snow, and the Imp tiding those three dragons off into the sunset after they defeat the White Walkers.
