Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
Found this on reddit....long live House Stark...for winter has come.
When winter comes for war,
You shall hear no Lions roar.
When winter forces you to yield,
No Stags shall graze upon the field.
When winter creeps upon you from the shadows,
No Roses shall bloom from the meadows.
When winter wreaks havoc on the land,
You can bet there'll be no Snakes in the sand.
When winter brings to life all it finds grim,
The Krakens will freeze where they swim.
When winter sets and the land begins to shiver,
The Flayed Man will start to rot and wither.
When winter fights to the last sliver,
No more Trouts shall swim in the river.
When winter ravages and all despair,
No Falcons shall fly high in the air.
When winter shows you what happens when snow falls,
Not even Dragons Breath shall warm you in your halls.
When winter comes with all it's might,
Only the Wolves shall howl in the night!Comment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
So I've been reading up more on the Cersi prophecy, mainly the Valonquar (little brother) part. How it doesn't just mean "her" little brother but just little brother. That throws out more options. But I got to thinking that who has an older brother that is close with Cersi and would have cause to go to Kings Landing? How about the Hound. The Mountains lil bro. Maybe Clegene bowl will still be on. Just spit balling.

If Cersei was born first would Jamie count as a "little" brother? I mean it's a matter of seconds, but if he was born second it would still count technically.
I didn't even know there was the part of Cersei's prophecy that said that. I just knew about the three children dying. I really need to get around to reading the books..
Speaking of Sandor, I think the only other thing I'd rather see than CleganeBowl is him reuniting with Arya since she's back in Westeros. Those two running around with a vengeance would be amazing to watch.Comment

As for a Arya and The Hound reunion I really hope this happens. They'd wreck some fools. And if Nymeria showed up all the better.

Hard for Jamie to wrap his hands around anything.

Yeah I get the feeling it'll be Jamie that ends up doing it, already killed one mad king, could definitely see them having him kill the love of his life off. Seems like a very game of thrones thing to do.Favorite Teams:

I don't think it is gonna be Jaime. I think they are gonna send his arc in a different direction. I think it is going to be a the literal little brother."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
Again, her game was temporarily tied to the High Sparrow because of her predicament. The High Sparrow underestimated Cersei -- Margaery, as we've seen on the show, wouldn't have done so. She realised the trap while the High Sparrow was still stuck on "we'll make her come here" until the very last minute.Comment

Game of Thrones: Season 6
Margaery was playing the game so well. She had taken the cards that Cersi had dealt her with the Sparrows and managed to come out "on top". She had effectively taken Tommen away and used the Sparrow to paint Cersi into a tight spot. She was the queen and was on the verge of ridding herself of Cersi completely.
Margaery played the game about as well as it had been played and learned from her mistakes but Cersi was just that much better in the end. But I enjoyed watching them going toe to toe.

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
So after giving it some thought, this is probably the best season finale GoT has ever had, and probably the best among all the shows I've personally watched. While some people might say it was "fan-servicey," I say, the seeds have been sown throughout the show's run (for the most part) and it's only fitting that some have been reaped.
Anyway, some thoughts:
- How damn good looking was Old Town?! It ain't called the BEST DAMNED CITY in Westeros for nothing. The Citadel and its library felt fantastical in a way GoT hasn't really evoked before -- like seeing Rivendell in LoTR different. Really liked the comedic bits of this part as well; Gilly also seems to be getting nicer and nicer the more she travels. Also, nice little easter egg:
- Season 1 throwback chills.
- Littlefinger isn't done. That look he gave Sansa and her slightly worried look in return has got me feeling he WILL have some sort of plot against Jon. I highly doubt Sansa would betray Jon, especially after their heartfelt talk over Winterfell. Much like other people are thinking, Sansa could very well play the Varys/Littefinger role for Jon, because as things currently are, Jon is still too Ned-like in the political arena.
- Speaking of Jon: is he committing a mistake by sending Melisandre away? He knows her value, he knows she can help in the Wars to Come, and yet he still sends her away because of burning Shireen and all that. As thick as Jon's plot armour is, I still foresee this biting him in the *** in some way. On the Tower of Joy side -- that all but sealed it (R+L=J). That transition from baby to Jon's face was chill inducing.

- The White Wolf is a cool nickname, but let's recognize who came first:Spoiler
- NINJARYA! Book version of Frey pie was nice. This was definitely, definitely, sweeter. Someone on reddit pointed this out as well: Grey Wind died via crossbow first; Robb got stabbed in the gut/heart second; Catelyn gets her throat cut last. Tywin dies via crossbow (Tyrion); Roose dies via stabbing (Ramsay); Walder Frey dies via throat cut (Arya).
- Arya was eyeing Jaime a lot, but he was never on her list. Just something to keep in mind.
- I really want to see Arya (speculation/book)Spoilerpossibly reunite with Nymeria since they're both in the Riverlands. Faceless Arya + Nymeria and her super pack?!
- Dany has Dorne -- Martell banners in her armada, but no legit Martell as far as we know -- and Highgarden -- Tyrell banners in her armada, with the only remaining Tyrell in Olenna, as far as we know. She's got her Dothraki + Unsullied + at least half of the Greyjoy fleet + the three dragons. The Lannisters don't stand a chance of holding King's Landing and there's no way the Vale or anyone in the North will ally with them. I just don't see much Fire and Blood in the battle for the Iron Throne.
- Spoiler for languageSpoiler
- So, Mad Queen, anyone? The prophecy (85% of it) is fulfilled. The only time she's ever been decent is when it came to her kids, and they're all gone now. Cersei is definitely gonna go bat **** crazy while she sits on that throne she doesn't even have any claim to. Queen Cersei Lannister, not Baratheon, so everybody in Westeros gonna go "what the fuu...." Plus, what happened to a new King being picked by a council of something something in case the line of succession is broken? She clearly bypassed all of that, and I would suspect a lot of Houses would be none too pleased. Which brings me to...
- Jaime. The look says it all. Could this finally be the moment that drives him to cut the incestuous cord between him and Cersei? I'm all in on that being the case. He gave up being an honourable man to prevent the very same thing Cersei just did. "The things we do for love," but even Cersei said she loved ****ing her brother because she loved the way he felt inside of her, and not actually LOVING Jaime. Perhaps the realization will sink soon enough, and Jaime from the books starts to shine on the show.
- Seriously don't get why Benjen Cold Hands couldn't leave the horse to Meera and Bran. What's she supposed to do, drag Bran all the way to the Wall? Bran accidentally bringing the Wall down is still in play! After Benjen's exposition about the Wall's composition and the only logical place for Bran & Meera to go to is The Wall, then you see where everyone is going with this.Last edited by Leon; 06-28-2016, 08:01 AM.Comment

Jamie has talked repeatedly of his love for Cersei. Jamie realizes that Cersei loves herself more than him. Hell, he was captive for all of an episode before she was in bed with Lancel. Jamie killed the Mad King because he was prepared to destroy the city. What will Jamie do when he realizes what all Cersei had to do to take throne?Comment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 6
Two things I've been thinking about.
1. Cersi doesn't know what she doesn't know. She has turned her strongest "ally" into an enemy in the Tyrells and the Reach. She doesn't have a master of coin and the Iron Bank will come for theirs. She doesn't know that the North is back in the hands of the Starks, The Freys have pretty much been eliminated in the Riverlands. She literally has only the Lannister Army supporting her and they suffered heavy losses in the war of the 5 kings at the hands of Robb Stark. She may find an ally in Euron and the Iron Islands I suppose. I would say Littlefinger could double cross the north and Sansa, but he's to "smart" to pick a losing side. Cersi is beset on 3 sides by enemies and if Dany goes after Casterly Rock first (which you would imagine is the counsel Tyrion had to give her). Then its a wrap.
2. I think this season was really good because for the first time they didn't have to hit on specific GRRM plot points from the books. Rather than be story re-tellers they got to be story tellers and the difference was clear. Now they know how and where it finishes, but they were able to do it "their" way rather than GRRMs way. These last three seasons could easily be the best of the bunch.Moderator
