    Stephen King's "It" (2017)

There were brief threads for this 7 years ago and 4 years ago, but I thought a newer one was in order.

Since all of us love remakes, they are remaking "It", and the idea is to make it a two-parter.

Release date of September 18, 2017.

New Line and Warner Bros. have announced a release date for their adaptation of Stephen King's "It." The movie, which was originally supposed to be directed by Cary Fukunaga, hits theaters Sept. 18, 2017. WB has also set its "C.H.I.P.S." reboot to bow on Aug.

Good. I read the first chapter of the book a few days ago and it was scarier than the entire film. The film is a joke.

There is so much material in the book that the movie didn't include/get right. I'm pumped for this remake.

So excited for this, IF it's done right. I just finished the novel a couple months ago, and it was an incredible read.

What? Tim Curry wasn't enough of a scary clown for you guys?? Lol.

Excited for the remake, don't dare to pick up the book again, yikes.

          Edit: Will Poulter, huh? Interesting.....

The look of Pennywise in the original was great. Scenes where he didn't say anything were good like the scene where he appears behind a sheet. Most of the film was more funny than scary, and it was too long.

I don't necessarily agree that it was too long.

For the length and material of the book I think a long movie is acceptable but I just think they filled the time with too many unnecessary things.

(So yes, the original was too long based on what they used but I don't think it was too long because of the length of it alone)

Personally, I loved Tim Curry as Pennywise; might be my favorite scary movie character.

I'll definitely be seeing the re-make though; I'm a huge fan of It.

The article says that Will Poulter had to drop out.

Darn, I didn't read the article, just loosely looked up in google images. Thanks for letting me know.

I think the quality didn't justify the length.

When I was a kid/teenager I read every single Stephen King book that I could find at the time (at least that's how I remember it in my mind. I loved his books.

It isn't as high on my list as it as in many other King fans lists but I did enjoy it a lot.

As I say anytime I hear about a King novel getting the Hollywood treatment, I just hope it's done right and not given B and C list treatment. Dreamcatcher and Heart in Atlantis (despite Anthony Hopkins) were travesties compared to the stellar source material, happens a lot really with King novel-movies, oh well (just my opinion, of course)

First movie was pretty decent. Hope they so it right this time around. Length won't be an issue if done right, I assume the two parts will be part 1 (childhood) part 2 (adulthood)

Reading the book is way better than watching the movie all the time!
