I completely agree, just left the theater, I loved it. Grew up on the Rangers and it was cheesey and segments cringe worthy but that's the source material and they worked it so well. It felt like it belongs in this time period. I saw an ep of the recent show on Nick and it's like their aiming the show at 10 month Olds cause its so bland. They did a real good job making them feel like real teenaversion.

Hoping it does well this weekend and gets a sequel green lit

So the Stuckman review said that he liked the movie BEFORE the ending battle scene. He made it sound like the movie got too silly for him once everyone was suited up and zord'd up. Did any of you feel that way about it?

Nope because that final battle was ripped right out of season 1 of the show

That's dumb, that's almost the entire basis of the franchise lol.

I loved it! It was everything the child in me and the adult in me could've hoped for. I loved the fireplace scene, they finally got to delve deep into the characters, something the original never did. The mid-credits scene was pretty awesome too, I sure hope the movie does well enough to warrant a sequel or two. I do wish they were in their suits for a little bit longer though, that's where the second one comes in.

My advice, go see this movie ASAP.

31 years old currently, remember watching the very first episode as a young kid and I was geeking out in the theater next to my fiance. GO SEE IT NOW

Can't wait for the sequel(praying there is one)!

Haha, I can't wait to see it! I am 32, so I have the same memories

I dunno what this is projected to do at the box office but if it is at least a minor success I am sure we will get more

I've been talking to a guy who does this for a living, projections have it around $35 million opening weekend which means around $115-$120 million domestic box office. International is key, obviously it should do very well in the Japanese market or maybe any Asian market. And with a budget of $120 million which means it needs to make $186 million for the movie to make a profit. And assuming it makes a profit, a sequel will be inevitable.

                          Easy estimates are 40 million.

I love the reviews guys. I likely won't watch this in theaters. I hardly watch anything in theaters these days. But the positive reactions give me reason to watch in the summer when I'm sure it'll be available digitally.

Glad they made a good Power Rangers film.

Went and seen it last night . Loved it. Billy was amazingly funny , had me cracking up constantly . The guy who played Jason did a good job in my opinion . Can't wait for a sequel .

                                Just read this on IGN

As noted by Variety, Lionsgate's Mighty Morphin movie performed above its $30 million expectations, placing second with an estimated $40.5 million. The Dean Israelite-directed film, which cost $100 million to make, will serve as the start of a six-movie story that Power Rangers producer Haim Saban has planned.
As long as they all make money, looks like we will be getting not one sequel, but potentially five of them!
