I saw an ad for it and noticed the guy who played Green Arrow in Smallville.

I have no idea what that shows about, but I saw commercials for it during basically every show I've watched in the past month so I watched bits and pieces of it just to see what all the hype was about.

Still don't know what exactly the shows supposed to be, other than some story about people born on the same day/year, living completely different lives, supposedly connected to each other in some way or something?

The stories for the two women didn't seem that great to me, but the one with the guy and his father, and the actor one both seemed more interesting.

It was ok, didn't really love it but didn't hate it either, I'll keep watching

I was excited but didn't really buy in when I watched the premiere, my expectations might've been too high, I can't give up after 1 episode but I'm worried

That was definitely an issue for me, for some reason I wasn't expecting the generic style, the acting rubbed me the wrong way too, especially the current choice for his wife. Also, did I miss something? Why's he retired already?

I do like Taylor Spreitler (from Melissa and Joey) and James still has enough celebrity weight to maybe squeeze out something decent. I'll see if it made Hulu and give it a look.

CBS deliberately made the wife way too hot for the lead, but it worked before.
Yep, she's definitely too hot for him, but there's a difference now, she's also too young, and too nice. With KOQ I could see he and Carrie being together because even though she was seemingly too hot for him, she was a bitch no one else wanted to deal with, and was also in his age range. He somehow got older and his wife got younger (and nicer), it's odd to me.

I started watching tonight after the description said "comedy/drama" and in the 10pm slot I figured why not, might be a guilty pleasure... but I could pretty much tell from the opening minutes it wouldn't be for me.

Anyone else ever do that? Like, the music was something I recognized as being from other shows I don't typically enjoy, so I immediately figured this wasn't gonna work.

Beyond that... anyone catch Scream Queens? I didn't even realize this would be a multi season show

If Jame's 50 or so character retired with 30 years of service he might be getting 80% of his base pay as a pension. If he wasn't living on a lot of overtime, he'd be more than comfortable, because he is also free of his $300-$400 monthly payment INTO his retirement fund.

EDIT: Actually reading where pensions (varying with state of course) can be a lot higher than that. A San Diego police officer with 28 years of service and a base pay of $62,500 a year would receive a pension of $76,500 a year (a 122% pay increase).

          NICE PENSIONS

We enjoy This Is Us a lot. That one and Atlanta are two new shows that will remain in our rotation. Nothing else new has really peaked our interest.

Speechless was terrible. Minnie Driver was irritating as **** and the show was absolutely boring. Not sure I laughed once.

Kevin Can Wait was somewhat disappointing. Outside of Kevin James and Gary Valentine I thought the acting was pretty poor.

I will still watch it for now to see how things develop because I am a huge Kevin James fan.

I was disappointed with Speechless. The premise was what drew me in as I have a 9 year old with Autism. So I understand the daily struggles you have getting the proper help and care for your child. The premise is good but the product fell flat. Wasn't funny at all. ☹️

I'm wondering the same, missed it because of sports or finales or whatever, not sure if it's worth catching on Hulu or not. Previews looked bad imo, the main white actor seemed really annoying, if I'm measuring him up to Mel Gibson I can't imagine he'll come anywhere near as entertaining, but that's a gimmie, but still, what's with these annoying actors? MacGuyver seems to be doing the same thing, maybe it's just me but from the commercials these all look like fails.

These reboot shows (Rush Hour for example) all look so bad, who are these casting directors? There's gotta be better guys to hire for these roles. Again, maybe it's just me, but I have no interest in these smirky *** brand new dudes trying to make a name for themselves by being cool (Rush Hour isn't a good example for this gripe)

I think the people that do these reboots don't know how to make it work for a modern audience. They either cast annoying smirking young people who just rub people the wrong way or they go the exact opposite direction and go way too dark.

I know it's not TV but I LOVED what the movie version of The A-Team did. They took the broad strokes of the various characters and ramped it up 100x. It helped that they didn't go for young smirky actors with the exception of Bradley Cooper but at least he has gravitas. The reboot TV shows just go for looks and don't really capture what made the original properties so great in the first place.

It's not just the reboot shows. Too many casting directors look for looks over acting chops.

But I think with so many shows on television now, it's really hard to find good actors. The best ones don't stick around shows like Lethal Weapon or Rush Hour.
