I was prepared to lose people in the finale. The tiger? Hell no. I was ready to freak if they even put a scratch on her.

How badass was Carl when he started the gun-fight with that smooth John Wick, close-quarters grab of the gun and shooting the knee, head, then mowing the other guys?

Powerful episode within the framework of the season as a whole. Great bookend. The season started and placed us in the pit of despair and hopelessness. And just when we thought we would sink further that silver lining of hope gave our heroes new life, although a price had to be paid.

Good finale, even inspirational at the end, but dragged a bit for me with Sasha's flashbacks to Abraham. It seemed liked they went to it a lot and it kind of disrupted the pace.

I agree, they went to that well a bit too much and/or for a bit too long. Should have been edited down. Loved the episode overall though!

It's just too bad The Walking Dead has been: intriguing premiere, so-so in-between, usually good to almost great finale for the past number of seasons. They could definitely cut the episode count by 2-4 for a better flowing season, but all the advertising money won't let that happen.

That's what I've been saying too...and when people say, well what do you expect in the middle episodes, they can't have too much happening..I say "well why not? game of thrones does, breaking bad did, the shield did, the wire did....all the best shows have just about every episode anything can happen"

Unfortunately it seems The Walking Dead has the "anything can happen" mode only in the finale each year and that's a shame. Even though i still enjoy it, it really could be so much better if they took a different view of the middle episodes as being actual episodes rather than mostly filler..

Except for Breaking Bad, all those shows are on premium cable channels. The Walking Dead suffers from its own success -- mainly for it being so popular that the network execs thought more episodes would = more viewers would = more money. While that is mostly true, the quality of the show has gone down a bit because of that mindset.

Now if they can actually craft a season's worth of story that barely has any "filler," then great! Past seasons indicate otherwise, unfortunately.

What I've noticed about TWD is most of the episodes directed by Greg Nicotero = Really good. Some of the others = where is this going?

Meh. I'm obviously in the minority, but I wasn't a fan. Especially after sitting through several very subpar episodes to get to the finale.

                        - Too much time wasted on Sasha/Abraham nonsense.
                        - 2 dozen people and a freaking tiger manage to get within 6 feet of Negan and no one notices anything until the tiger is literally on top of a dude.
                        - Negan shouting out 'the widow's alive and guns blazing!' or whatever in the middle of a gun fight was cringe-worthy.
                        - The battle was a mess. 50 people with machine guns all shooting at each other from 3 feet away and no one really dies.

Those are valid critiques but for some, I think a certain level of suspension of disbelief is required.

Yeah, I could care less about the realism of the battle unless people are sprouting wings and shooting arrows or what line Negan yells in the heat of battle. Carl's Rambo act was an exaggeration too, but it started the process that validated Sasha's sacrifice. LOL, the writers have probably been waiting to use the tiger as artillery for some time and it worked for me.

Of course, it's a show about zombies after all. But, that doesn't mean they can't do a better job choreographing the battle they spent an entire subpar season building to.

This show is on the decline. The Sasha scene, and the part where Negan finally gets his own medicine was the only thing going for it.

I can't believe they made Rick dumb enough to believe the trash people would be assets, even if he's desperate for more people to fight, we all knew how that was going to end.

It just feels sloppy, predictable, and rushed to me.
