YTV has been available in Orlando since June. I checked out the channel lineup at launch and it is missing way too many must haves for me - TNT, NBA TV, and MLBN to name a few.

Still using Vue here...PS added all our locals right around when the price bump took effect so that is nice to have. Also happy they added CBSSN since they show a good amount of CFB and CBB games.

I am cutting the cord next month, once the current Ink Master season wraps up. Spike doesn't seem to be carried by anyone. I think there is just one more episode anyway.

At first we are just going to go cold turkey. I mean, we have Hulu, Netflix and Prime. We are considering adding a Live TV service, like PS Vue or Hulu Live.

I think Sling is high on the list, but I have to run the numbers. If I can get away with just one tier on sling, that is just $20 a month. Otherwise I will probably go with Hulu Live, since that runs on the Xbox. Also, since we have Hulu, adding Live is just $32 a month more.

I went two years without cable or a dish before, but jumped back in for a good deal from DirecTV. I really missed sports at home. But with the new Live TV services getting both ESPN and Fox Sports Midwest, in addition to others channels, it's a much easier pill to swallow. All of the cards and Blues are on FSMW. The Chiefs are on Monday Night (ESPN) a couple of times this year, but I may just hit the local Chiefs pub and watch it there if we have not added a live TV service yet.

Just talking to the wife about how much we are using the streaming services lately, and figured this was a good time to cut a big bill down.

Im close to switching to this. because Vue is going up from $35 to $45 next month for me.

Do you still need a chromecast to watch it on your tv, or can you use the youtube apps that are on ps4s and smart tvs??

Yes you still need Chromecast but they're working on native apps.

I just signed up for a 1-month free trial of DirectTV Now. I used it for the first time last night for a little bit. I'm currently on FiOS. I need to give it some more time as yesterday was my first time using it (via the AppleTV app).

Some minor annoyances off the bat:

(1) No previous channel. I wanted to flip between a few games, but had to go to the guide each time and then scroll to the channel.
(2) No page up/down for the guide. Needed to scroll 1 by 1. So if there was something on ABC and TNT I was flipping between, it was a pain having to scroll from A to T and vice versa. (I did read there was a 'recently watched' area that would make that easier, but I never found it).
(3) Lack of info on the guide. Mainly regarding sports. It would just say 'College Football'. On FiOS, it tells you who is playing in the info on the guide, but it wasn't there for DTVN. Other shows had info about Season/Episode numbers and show titles, but not sports.

Like I said, I still need to give it some more time. Picture quality seems good, and the switching between channels was fast. Faster than I thought it would be. I still have a month to decide if I want to keep it or not.

I had DirecTV Now for a couple months and hated it.
It just was not very user friendly for me.
I have now had Vue for 2 months and love it!

I was looking at both, and happened to find a deal for 1-month free of DTVN. My only issue with Vue was it is missing a few channels right now that I would want (mainly NHL Network and History Channel).

I will probably do a free trial of Vue as well to try it out.

I did the free month of both too.
And I too thought I would miss The History Channel, so far I haven't.
There really is a ton of sports channels on VUE, more than I had on regular cable.
For some reason Directv now lagged a lot for me on my fire stick.
I run the Vue straight from my PS4 and it runs great.
I use an old PS3 for my daughters room and it runs great too.

I agree DTV Now is not very user friendly but for the $35 deal at original sign-up and the channel line up, it's the best bang for buck. I feel like they'll eventually raise the price for those who signed up for the highest package at $35, but until then, I'll enjoy it.

Vue definitely has a great interface and user experience. I enjoyed it, but the content compared to DTV Now and price wins.

My main issue is I dont want to give Directv any money. They screwed me over for 10 years, and put holes all over my house on the outside with their Sh#tty install.

Good luck, I personally like VUE way more than I liked DTVN.
That being said I have no desire to watch the NHL Network.
DirecTv also screwed me over years ago and I refuse to give them any of my money.

So I called Charter Spectrum to cancel my cable, but keep my internet. Their internet has been rock solid, getting 130 Mbps down on wired connections, and my subscription is just for 100 Mbps down.

Then Charter began making me offers, and I "caved." Internet is $65 when you don't bundle. So they got me internet and a super basic cable package for $76. I get all my locals, plus 10 cable channels of my choice. The only channel I wanted that was off the list was Fox Sports Midwest, which does pretty much suck. That's all of my Blues and Cardinal games.

The deal is for two years, at which time it goes to $88. Oh, and I get all of the HBO channels for a year, too. Apparently this will drop off on its own, and I don't have to call to cancel it. I'm paying $140 now. So I'm saving $64 a month for two years. By then, I'm not sure cable TV will even exist anymore.

The 10 I chose:
MSNBC
CNN
ESPN
ESPN2
AMC - TWD and much more
FX - AHS, Fargo, and many more
USA - Mr. Robot, Colony
TNT - Major Crimes
Lifetime - Project Runway
Bravo - Top Chef

We can alter the list during the first 30 days. We may kick Bravo, and maybe MSNBC, in order to get SyFy and Spike. SyFy has several shows we watch, even if it is kinda B-list stuff. Spike has Ink Master, which we have really gotten into. It also has Bar Rescue, which is terrible and no one should ever watch it, even though I still do.

So I could still opt out of this, but then my best package would be to go with Hulu TV, because that would be just $28 a month more, which would give me more channels, but really only FSMW as an additional must have channel.

So cord cutting has been put off for a year out two. I mean, I was already going to be paying the $65 a month for internet.

Jayhawk that is a great deal because I dont know of any cable company that lets you choose your own channels. I though they have different levels of service and they are in certain bundles.....

Yes, I've been hoping for a pick/choose deal for a while. I have Spectrum Internet so I'm excited for this.
