Yeah...I'm 190ish for home DVR (3 total boxes), internet, and phone (had to be bundled)...includes a year of movie channels too. Cox cable, but similar. Not horrible when you consider it includes my internet, and the ease of use of the boxes is great....maybe in a few years it'll be amazing to stream, but not for me now.

Re: Cord cutting
I'm gonna go back to just Hulu, Netflix and buying select shows not on Hulu. I'll end up spending under $500 a year.

Re: Cord cutting
until year 2 of your contract when they will rape you again with no lubeI tried PS Vue and thought it was great on the PS4 but only average on my Roku which is in the room where I primarily watch TV. I also didn't like that I couldn't watch shows right after they aired (for example, we usually watch Big Brother an hour or two after it airs but it wasn't available to watch last Thursday when I wanted to watch it).
I ended up calling DirectTV and threating to cancel so they knocked $70 off of my monthly bill. With that said it had gotten to an outrageous $200/month with all movie channels, my main box, and 5 genies. I am returning one genie as a part of the discount, so going forward I will have the XTRA package and all movie channels for around $125-130/month.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
My contract was up a couple of years ago so I can cancel at any time. The discount is $40 off of my bill for the next year. Plus, a discount on the movie channels. For the next 6 months, Cinemax is free and Starz is $6.99/mo. but the rep told me to call back when both are up and I should be able to get the same deal. I'll probably call back in late October or early November to see if I can swap out the movie channels for NBA League Pass.
If the Vue worked better on the Roku and the DVR was better than I would definitely go with it. However, I watch probably 80% or more of my TV on the DVR and it's usually just starting an hour or so passed the actual air time. I usually even do this with live sports because I don't like sitting through commercials so I don't think they're DVR really worked for how I prefer to watch TV.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Oh. I didnt know you could cancel anytime after renewing. I thought you were locked in for 2 years. My contract was up with them and when I cancelled they tried getting me back with that $70 a month deal, but it was only for 12 months. and it was a 2 year contract all over again. My contract was up a couple of years ago so I can cancel at any time. Re: Cord cutting
Yeah, i can cancel too, but really I have no reason to as of yet...When prices go up I just call customer retention again and they figure out how to get me down again. I've done this a few times. Their new DVR (same as Comcast's) is pretty killer.Oh. I didnt know you could cancel anytime after renewing. I thought you were locked in for 2 years. Re: Cord cutting
I just canceled Spectrum TV and got PS Vue. Kept my internet with Spectrum and I will save $45/mo.
I have to say it's been great so far. Have had a few hiccups where it buffers for a second, but I really like the cloud DVR functionality and setting up all my favorite shows and channels. Very easy to navigate.
I have been wanting to do this for a long time, but Vue didn't have the channel the Indians play on until just recently. So I pulled the trigger.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
I have had the Vue for about 6 weeks or so and I love it too!
I wasn't sure if I would or not, but its really great.
The CORE package for $44 a month offers a ton of sports.
They keep adding channels all the time to.
I am saving about $120 a month.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
This is the kind of stuff I want to learn about before I make the jump. I have Spectrum, too.
The problem is, I would just be saving about $25 a month. And I really, really like my TiVo, and I hate the limits there are on the PS Vue cloud based DVR. I have the entire season of Magicians sitting on my hard drive, and those would be gone on PS Vue.
How soon are show available on the DVR? Can I start watching a show 20 minutes in?Comment
