The way I look at it is that is what a great professional/trusting relationship was until Mr. Kaplan did what he thought was best for Liz and Agnes.

Red doesn't like anyone betraying him and did what he thought was in his best interest.

Now, the relationship has done a 180 once Mr. Kaplan emerges.

I feel it's a great ying and yang dynamic.

2 hrs next week with a lead-in to Redemption.

I thought this was a great episode, probable one of the best ones up to this point. Aram and his ex, Aram blowing people up with a bazoka and Arum watching his ex kick butt.

And, Red's world is caving in right before his very eyes.

Now, Mr. Kaplan is too obvious.

Went over my head. It has to be her, but I'd thought she
        would pick survival over revenge.

Other then it being generally obvious, do you see something in the methodology of Red's "mystery problem" that indicates it's definitely Kate?

Just pure speculation on this end and one of the producers mentioned before the season started the Mr. Kaplan will be a focus with Red later in the season. Plus, who know more about Red than Dembe and Mr. Kaplan to pull this off? We haven't seen Kate during this segment of the show and you know she is recovering somewhere.

Also, another theory is that maybe it's Katerina and Mr. Kaplan comes to the rescue and saves Red?

          Another possibility???

              I didn't see that coming.

              Best. Episode. This. Season.

Spader should get an Emmy for this episode alone.

Agree-extraordinary performance by Spader even when grading on his curve.

But Dembe??? His recent concern for Red had to be genuine, but with the show already allowing a convenience for Kate to still live, it appears he is the probable traitor.

PS: The Blacklist Redemption was pretty slick and pretty good. (IMO)

That's one thing about the Blacklist though, the obvious isn't always the obvious.

Why did Dembe leave Red with "the doctor"? Why didn't he just leave him to die?

Maybe Dembe is out to protect the traitor before Red get's to them.

I'd still think Mr. Kaplan is pulling the strings, but that is obvious too.

It will be an interesting ride till the May sweeps.

Now, maybe with less Ryan Eggold, now maybe more scenes with Spader, which isn't a bad thing.

By the way, I liked Redemption, it's a bit more laid back without an "FBI" presence.

When is Redemption on, in place of The Blacklist?

I need to set my DVR, lol.

                    Yeah, this episode was puzzling.

I haven't yet watched the Redemption episode, but curious if that will be talked about on here as well? Just wondering when I should expect to be able to enter this thread for discussion or how we should go about that.

Make a new thread because it might bog one of the shows down in the thread?

I know Eggold has said there will be some actors crossing over.

Actually I was confused how this would play out, because I thought both shows were going to be playing at the same time. I didn't know this past week was the "changing of the guard" from one show to its spin-off counterpart (looking at next week, The Blacklist doesn't play at all, but Redemption does).

                          Forget what I asked.

It's fine, Blacklist is coming back in April, it's on a winter break.

I'm in the middle of watching season 2 (yeah, I know, I can't get enough of this stuff), and watched the episode of The Kenyon Family. That is the episode about the polygamist cult lives in the middle of nowhere with all these weapons and bombs.

I'll be dipped, there is a kid that is in a truck and Samar talks the kid out of blowing up the truck with his finger on the button. I looked closer and said, that kid is Dustin from Stranger Things. He was in that episode for a few scenes.

Yep, that was his only acting credit to his name before Stranger Things.

All I know is that it's more complicated than "oh, it's Dembe"...

Also, it may be important to recall Mr. Kaplan's convo with her captor, where she pretty much admits that "she understood why Red did what he did" or "she kind of deserved it" or whatever the literal quote was...

I think she's trying to teach Red a lesson, more than actually kill him and Dembe may be onto her and trying to diffuse the situation before it gets further out of hand between his two "parental figures"...

                                As far as Redemption goes:

It's good, but I wonder how sustainable it is without a dominant lead?

They have a trio of high functioning second bananas leading THAT charge...
