Re: Logan (2017)
That is awesome if true, though I wonder how much they could pull from the comics. Obviously some characters wouldn't fit due to movie studio licensing/rights ownership conflicts. If they could keep the spirit of that story intact though, damn, with the R rating and freedom to do Wolverine violence right (Finally), we could have a great one on our hands here.
For those that have never read it, go check out Old Man Logan. Freaking awesome story"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Logan (2017)
Really hoping it's a cross between Old Man Logan and Death of Wolverine, both were really good stories. Seeing the cuts and scratches on Logan's hand makes it seem like his healing factor is gone or deteriorating, which fits either of those stories.
Though interested in hearing the rumor thatSpoiler

Re: Logan (2017)
SpoilerHe's tricked by a Spider-Man villian into thinking the mansion is being overrun by Villains who are finally working together, and it ends up being that he kills all the X-Men
Problem I have/fear w/ Old Man Logan is they really can't do very much of it at all with what they have licensed. No Hulk/Hulklings, Hawkeye, Spider-Man stuff, Loki's skeleton, etc. Nearly every element of that story Fox doesn't have the license to use, it's a lot to subsitute other guys in.
So yeah, we're expected to get elements of it, everyone in it (there's a photo out of an aged Patrick Stewart) is aged about 20 years, remains to be seen what we end up with unfortunately.
One of my favorite stories ever. It'd be interesting if we got X-23 in this, and Sinister, and Cable shows up and takes X-23 back to present day (perhaps to stop Sinister), tie it into Deadpool and the next X-Men and drive towards an X-23 series of movies.Comment

Like you said, the way everything is licensed it is impossible to really do "Old Man Logan" page-to-screen. That sucks, by the way, that's a loss for the fans, but whatever I get that business is business.
My hope would be they could draw from the base plotline, the western elements (kinda make it a marvel comics version of "Unforgiven")
I could see them using Cable exactly how you described here.
Either way I am excited. I remember having a chat about comics with Boltman during our old Division runs back in the day and one thing we talked about is how some comics really need an R-rated movie to do them justice. I brought up Wolverine as an example. I mean, the dude has claws. One of his "main deals" is indestructible claws that can cut through anything. Obviously, his action is going to be pretty violent. Let's be real, the dude freaking slashes people. There is some great violence in Old Man Logan and hopefully they can do Wolverine faithfully now in Logan."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Logan (2017)
Maybe they'd replace Hulk/hulklings w/ the Reavers?
