I don't like anything about this song, including the typo in the song's title.

      Re: Grace VanderWaal (artist)

Her new EP LETTERS Vol. 1 is out.

Here is a live (not concert) performance of her last song on the EP called The City.

      <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TBk195XPk3s" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

If I may be frank, I was not a fan of what I was hearing out of this new bit. It is a switch-up into a little more of what I would say modern day pop music provides (or at least in the sense that "every genre is pop now," which saddens me to my core). Once I was accepting of the fact, I dug into the lyrics more and found slight appreciation for it. It helped when I saw a live performance of a song like this one and noticed that everything was created by the hands, instruments, and vocals of only four people total (including Grace), and that things weren't added in post. If you rearrange songs like Stray and Hideaway into the EP's track listing, that sure helps as well.

As far as all of her new songs since Clearly, I would probably rank them as follows:

      1) Hideaway
      2) Stray
      3) I Don't Like You
      4) Poser
      5) The City
      6) Waste My Time
      7) Clearly
      8) You're So Beautiful
      9) Intro (Gucci Shoes)

        Re: Grace VanderWaal (artist)

The new Grace VanderWaal film Stargirl is now available on Disney+.

        <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SoRlldfi7E8" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It held my attention for sure, and it was a story and character that I felt like was made for her. Don't get me wrong, I know this was a novel well beforehand, but you know when you have matches like this that just fit so perfectly? This was it for Grace.

I wasn't a fan of some of the character structure/development. Some things went strangely too rapidly without any in-between. Side characters had very little to go off of, which was fine for the sake of the story, but this movie strayed away from doing maximal amounts of anything to be anything better than decent. Small, basic themes with large bouts of predictability. I think it would have served better as a TV series, personally.

Anyway, for all of the new things that aren't coming out anymore due to the coronavirus, I'm glad this was still able to and I'm hoping people can check it out. Being on the home page front banner of Disney+ is a good ol' start!

Also, she is going to be in Francis Ford Coppola's newest film Megalopolis (written in 1980, production shut down in 2001 due to 9/11 attacks, and back and running again).

Everytime I see Moneyball on tv, the scene with Billy Bean's daughter playing her ukulele (?) or whatever it is, reminds me of Grace and this thread. I saw Moneyball on last night and wondered if his daughter still plays.

Part of me wonders if she ever did, and I don't like to follow up and check on that kind of stuff. If the movie tells me things I don't already know to be true or not, the magic of the film gives the illusion that that's what it actually was, and I'd like for that to be the case haha. Maybe she did after all.

Good time for a bump, though! I missed these two unplugged releases:
