Some movies to keep in mind of his are High Life, Good Time and Rover.

And don't forget his most recent film, The Lighthouse.

Good Time is far and away my favorite of the three you mentioned.

Yeah it's just releasing right? Might not get a chance to see it until it comes on digital, usually small films like that don't play in the Philippines

I think Robert Pattinson is an excellent choice. I'm just picturing him at Wayne manor all dark and brooding.

I just hope he can bulk up a bit and give us some good fight scenes.

That bulking job is going to be a challenge but Christopher Reeve was pretty skinny too.

I don't think he has to be super huge.

Ben Affleck was one end of the spectrum.

Pattinson wil be closer to Val Kilmer or Michael Keaton.

Andy Serkis is reportedly in talks to play Alfred.

Also, Robert Pattinson's trainer posted a photo of him at Jiu-Jitsu practice with the caption "Batman's coming".

And it sounds like Colin Farrell might be playing the Penguin, with Matthew McConaughey being eyed for Harvey Dent (the article noted that his downfall would happen in a sequel).

With all this casting news, I'm completely editing the first post of this thread since so much has changed.

I like all the casting so far and especially these two, but my only pause is with Serkis as Alfred.

Are they eyeing a younger Batman this time around rather than the older Affleck version?

That's what I've believed since they casted Pattinson.

I imagine slightly younger than Bale's Batman. But I really have nothing to back that up. I just figured they'd be going that route.

I'm not a fan of a young Alfred. Alfred needs to be old.

So Andy Serkis is going to be Alfred that works. I got mixed up lol

Not a fan of Colin Farrell being the Penguin.

Not saying that I've ever really questioned Colin Farrell's acting abilities, though his early 2000s films are guilty pleasures of mine (S.W.A.T., Phone Booth, The Recruit). However, after seeing his performances in In Bruges and Saving Mr. Banks, I haven't ever had a reason to pass on watching a film for him alone. He's a damn fine actor.

That being said, I got so used to seeing Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot in Gotham that I don't really know if another version will surpass his.

I'm coming around on a non-deformed, 4 foot tall Penguin after the one in Gotham AND the one in the Telltale Games Batman title.

                              Spoiler

                              Farrell will do just fine.

Man I'm getting more excited by the day it seem, casting wise this is looking really good, now if they can just put it all together and stay with it.
