    M. Night Shyamalan - Split (January 20, 2017)

Skipped out on After Earth and never got a chance yet to see Wayward Pines, but when being mildly entertained with Devil and The Visit, it looks like he may have rekindled enough to garner attention for this one, and may officially "be back" all the same.

That's a big maybe. As long as the wind doesn't show up as an accomplice!

I've heard some good things about this. Apparently McAvoy is amazing in it.

Heard the same and I've always found split personality so fascinating. Even though Shyamalan has let me down a few times I may check this one out.

James McAvoy was bloody outstanding. M. Night had a great character to work with, muddled it a little bit (you know, demonizing the illness and whatnot like DID is a negative thing we should ostracize) and ran two hours in something that, although mildly entertaining and interesting, and even attempts to pay it off, doesn't get my full bode.

It's kind of weird, and doesn't all click as you're watching it, but it was kind of cool too. I'd call it a "nice change of pace," but the captivity thing has been done recently (10 Clovefield Lane says hello). Still, the star of the show steals it, and he's almost worth the price of admission alone.

Otherwise... rent it. I'm not calling it bad at all, but there is nothing gained by watching it in theater. In fact, it's one of those movies where a bad crowd can really ruin the tone, you know?

Good, but whereas M. Night has great ideas (and even some great shots), his storytelling could use a couple of other people throwing ideas around the room to really emboss all that would make this film deeper than it delivers to be. Not groundbreaking, and even though I'm glad I watched it, I don't find much reason to rewatch it. It's one of those films that I wish necessitated many rewatches given the number of personalities, etc.

I am however confident to say that M. Night Shyamalan is "back," even though it's not my favorite of his flicks.

Dude, people behind me were 13 year old girls who laughed during the most intense and serious moments... definitely rent this movie to avoid that type of dumb stuff.

But it was a good movie, worth a watch

                  Just came from the theatre.
Wife and I loved it. Especially the very very end.
Can't wait for the follow-up as the tie-in is my fav M.Night film.
