Jeebs that was nice. I'm thinking about getting a refurb Phantom 3 from DJI. Time to get a real big boy. And it's in my price range. I don't need all the bells and whistles yet.

Re: Drones?
Thanks!! Yea looking back I think I should of started with low end instead of going high end. But I don't regard one bit about getting the Mavic. It's been worth every cent. Crashing a $1000 drone hurts lol. But every feature that the Mavic has is worth it.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Drones?
I think that's a solid starter drone!
But I have to tell this story. And this story isn't over yet. But I want to let others here (and everyone else about DJI customer service). My drone recently crashed. And I have DJI Refresh Care with DJI. It covers any pilot errors. As long as you can return the drone. I have been going through hell with them on this repair. I've given them one more chance before I go on the offensive.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Drones?
That will be good for people who want to take aerial selfies.
The Mavic is great, they just gotta improve the camera and if they can get it to the level of the Phantom 4 I'm all for upgrading.
By the way Jeebs, did yoi read up on the Lilly company going bankrupt? Too bad, pretty cool concept.

Re: Drones?
I finally got a decent day to take mines on a short flight, Still trying to get use to flying. I mostly had RC Cars. On road, I'm just fine. In the air, I get shaky sometimes. Just got to keep at it.Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

Re: Drones?
I also wanted to throw this out there, I recommend no one use carbon fiber blades, except for maybe stunt flying and racing.
Every time my phantom crashed it was because for some reason it went into a auto land situation and basically just flew down into trees or crops without accepting any of my input.
With plastic blades the blades would just break off, the motors could still spin but it wouldn't harm anything.
With carbon fiber blades they won't break off. When my phantom 2 landed in a bean field I was filming the crops got caught up in that blades. The motors continued to spin, and the motors actually ripped and twisted themselves out of the frame. It twisted the motor wires and actually destroyed some of the enamel on the motor wires. Destroyed the frame and a couple motors, with plastic blades only the blades broke.
This could be a non issue with newer phantoms, just figured I'd give people a heads up.
Only time I crashed the traxxas was crazy stunt flying, and the quad was unharmed. That was a pleasant surprise because I was running a heavy battery and lightweight carbon fiber frame.Comment
