Saw this a couple days ago. It's pretty sweet.

I know I am probably in the minority here but I don't think I like the new reimagining of Michael being just a normal mortal human. One of the biggest reasons I love the franchise is that unknown of why and how he can't be stopped. I don't need an answer, I just want to keep wondering.

Yeah, to me it makes no sense to make Michael "human." So the the protagonist is just gonna kill him with a gunshot or a stabbing at the end and that's all for Michael Myers? The whole movie will feel like "so that's it?" We just needed to shoot him?

And if it is a true continuation of the series taking place after 2, then how do you explain the six gunshots and one to the heart not killing him, or being burned alive? Kind of a contradiction from the new team.

And spot on about Loomis. Michael is evil. Not that the person Michael is evil, but he is actually evil itself. I mean that's why he's called The Shape, right?

Here's one article that mentions him not being invincible, making him real, and that he won't have a sister. Which is just baffling to me. Unless they are going with narrative that she is dead or in hiding. But these plot tidbits are a little worrisome to me.

How is this a continuation of the first two if he has no sister, and isn't at least somewhat invincible? Who did he kill when he was a kid to get him sent to Smith's Grove?

This isn't the original article I read but all I can find right now.

I'm by no means saying the sky is falling. I am still super excited and I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever type of narrative they go with. I just find some of the stuff that's been divulged a little strange and what I think is an unneeded departure from the series.

Now it says all the sequels will be ignored including 2. I can live with ignoring everything after 2 as carpenter wasn't involved with those films but I'm not a fan of ignoring 2. Halloween 2 is joined at the hip of the original & hurts the new film not to include it. Well.....I can understand that. However it does not surprise me John wants it to pick up from the original as he never wanted to make that sequel back then. He has been documented several times about how he really wanted Halloween to be a stand alone story. And future sequels would be different stories (like Season Of The Witch) taking place on Halloween night.

But.....since another sequel is being made here in 2018.....why leave out Halloween 2? It was the best sequel in the cannon to begin with (along with Halloween 4).

Oh well......I am willing to let that go if this movie really kills it. And I have a sneaking suspicion it will be excellent. I am really jacked up for this!!!

I haven't seen Halloween 2 before. However, maybe it's one of those things where it played off the first film well, but something can't play off of it well.
