Uh, there was a huge scene of her getting up and into her car, with music signifying her not giving up (the song escapes me now). So it was pretty clear she was not dead.

Uh, I'm not talking about when she was struggling to get in her car. I'm referring to the sounds of the thugs beating her while she groans until she stops groaning. The fact that the beating was off camera heightened the probability that is was grotesque and fatal. I'm certain the writers intended to make the viewers think she was dead.

The show is completely cohesive. But it is a complicated take with many threads. If you are surfing the net, you are going to be lost.

The season is fantastic, and **** is getting way real now.

No, I haven't bothered surfing the net for any details. As for it's cohesion, I don't think it's all over the place, just not "quite as tight" as the other two.

Having said that I might end up liking this one better than the first two if the last five episodes are as compelling as this last one-It is getting real. The coffee mug scene was "edge of your seat" stuff.

On a superficial note Nikki Swango is perfection.

**** gets more real every week. We are truly in the endgame now. In fact, I think a viewer that had not scene a single episode could have been caught up completely in last night's episode between gloria's breakdown of what she thinks is going on, Nikki's assessment of what Emmit is up to, and VM Varga's continual monologues that essentially add up to, "Eat the rich."

It's damn great season, and the main theme of the season continues to hold strong, which is the power dynamics between those that hold power over those that lack it and how fast those tables can turn.

Throw in Gloria, invisible to the modern world, and she somehow maintains her power over her destiny by merely not recognizing the power of those over her, which she gets away with because she is 100% honest and ethical. I love every time they go through the "Chief, not Chief" thing, because it never matters. She's just doing her job and giving **** all to the stupid, petty men around her.

I do think this is better than last season, and last season was a damn near masterpiece.

Last 20 minutes was excellent. And the show was way more coherent this episode.

Could do without Varga's rhetoric though on a personal level but I guess it fits his character.

Yeah, he talks too much. I hope he gets shut up in the finale. (What the heck was he doing to his teeth/gums?) All things considered, he's creepy even by Fargo standards.

I thought Ray might kill one of the thugs that beat up girlfriend Nikki Swango, but that ain't gonna happen!!

That's another thing. I'm kinda sick of the gross out moments in the show. Every episode it's something. From the drawer thing to the teeth and a few others just this season. I get the show is cartoonish in nature but really, we don't need closeups of him doing....whatever the **** that was....to his nasty *** teeth.

Varga's rhetoric is a pretty essential part of the show. He represents the rise of populism.

He has an insatiable appetite to consume, yet hates the systems that provide things like cheap food. He wants to tear down the elite, eating the rich.

He also represents the typical Fargo villain, who's views on the world describe the narrative. Mike Milligan was more eloquent. Malvo more thoughtful, and Buscemi's character from the film was more spastic. But their monologues and observations are essential to understanding the context in which the events take place.

I find Varga fascinating, and very relevant to the state of the world right now.

Yeah, he's a great character. I think I like Milligan more though. And I definitely love Malvo more than both. Billy Bob was something ****ing else.

This is a great synopsis about a character that initially didn't grab me, but is now growing on me, as they all are. Your last line actually is applicable history-wide. Always have been elite and always will be elite and there will be people who always want to tear them down.

I think with the pace of this season the ending will come all too soon.

(The female traffic cop seems like someone they pulled from the Fargo movie who we never got to see!)

After last weeks episode, I finally got onto hulu to finish seasons 1 and 2 (i had seen the first few episodes of season 1, so i was familiar with the deaf hitman--blanking on his name right now--but figured it was a good time to catch up on the rest now that the seasons are connected).

Every season theres that one episode where someone dies grusomely where you just think, "why the **** do i watch this show." The episode where

I think the latest episode has the ultimate gruesome death scene.

And there was some weird **** going on in this episode. Love, love, loved the opening scenes of Nikki getting away. But man, I don't know what to think now, cause that got weird.

Wow...what an episode. I think the most interesting element was that the image in the stamp was finally revealed. The deity/angelic aspect was great as well.

It's almost like they're just being super weird because they're Fargo and that's what's expected of them.
