Avengers: Infinity War

I’ll tell y’all this much. If Disney/Marvel has a trick up their sleeves and the X-Men, Deadpool or Fantastic Four turn up in any sort of capacity in this movie y’all probably won’t see me ever again because I’m gonna lose my **** and probably just drop dead in the theater from nerd excitement overload.

Vision pinned down and getting the forehead extraction.

I recall that when I was a collector, Marvel always did such a good job balancing a large cast of characters. Gotta think doing that in a 2+ hr. movie has got to be exponentially harder and yet they pull it off well.

I love superheroes.

I'm a DC guy, but I want all of these movies to succeed. And one of these days, we'll have an Avenger and Justice League movie that everyone loves. Until that day comes, I'll continue to nerd out that we're getting these movies at all.

So I joined the MCU late, my first movie was The Avengers where I had no backstory, no idea on the story or some of the characters. I have since seen all the Avengers, all three Captain America's, and Doctor Strange. I want to be well informed and watch everything I need to in order to fully understand Infinity War, including rewatching ones I've already seen.

My question is, I don't want to watch every movie in the universe because I've heard some are not the best and not relevant to the main story line. What should I watch in preparation for Infinity War to fully understand it?

Couldn't tell you since I don't know what Infinity War is all about (didn't see the trailer), except for of course the infinity stones and Thanos.

To give some perspective, I recommended to my sister to be caught up with the following films prior to Spider-Man: Homecoming:

Iron Man
Iron Man 2
Captain America: The First Avenger
Thor
The Avengers
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Captain America: Civil War

I wasn't expecting her to watch all of those films, so instead I provided her the link to a YouTube channel called Movies in Minutes that pretty much tells a good summary (with clips) of each of the films in 4-5 minutes. She was going to watch them up to Ultron, then we were going to watch Civil War before she would then see Homecoming. This hasn't happened yet, by the way haha.

So for you, I would probably say the same thing in the sense that maybe you can watch some of the films and then spend about an hour watching the rest on that YouTube channel. The first Guardians of the Galaxy film has to do with one of the stones as well so that may be important, and if you're keen on seeing Thor: Ragnarok in theaters any time soon you may want to jump on this as soon as you can (I have not seen Ragnarok, so I don't know of its importance).

Sounds like you've seen a lot of them already, though.
