Loki is like the key cog to all this.

Going all the way back to the first Thor and Loki's actions there. He manipulated a near war with the Frost Giants that lead to Thor being banished, destroyed the BiFrost bridge and killed Laufey before being lost into space that lead him directly to Thanos. From there he lead the Chitauri invasion on Earth and eventually lost two Infinity Stones in the process. After faking his death in Thor: The Dark World it allowed him to sneak back into Asgard and replace Odin on the throne for FOUR YEARS. Because of his time impersonating Odin though it allowed the universe to basically go unchecked without the Asgardians defending the 9 realms like they were supposed to. Thanos was able to make all his moves without any problems whatsoever because Loki was dicking around on the throne. When Thanos goes to Nidavellir and forces them to forge the Infinity Gauntlet, Heimdall would have seen it and the Asgardians and others could have intervened but by the time he'd done that (He's already got the gauntlet at the end of Age of Ultron) Loki (as Odin) has already replaced Heimdall with Skurge.

Thanos likely gets all this stuff together eventually, but all the cosmic safeguards for something like that happening failed basically through a string of Loki's actions. Pretty crazy to think about all of it.

I don't really see the connection, they've never interacted in the comics. However, Adam Warlock is most likely gonna be in Guardians 3, since he was the mid-credits scene in Guardians 2.

They aren't pulling directly from the comic. They're using the 1991 storyline as inspiration, but they've said all along that it isn't a direct adaptation.

They can't have someone kill Thanos that hasn't even been seen in the movies yet. That's why it's Captain Marvel in the MCU.

The end credits scene should be interesting....hopefully they show half of them turn to ash. Better yet I want half of them to turn to ash during a major fight scene.

and hate he got killed, I wish he would have just gotten beaten like I wish would have happened with Killmonger. Personally I wouldn't have any problems with some of these villains being used in multiple movies even if for a smaller role in the 2nd film. We all know Thanos is going to be defeated in Avengers 4 and I'm REALLY hoping he isn't killed off but just beaten really badly and escapes. Wouldn't seem right if such a powerful villain like him was killed. IMO
