It really has entered the pure **** area now. I really don't care about the main characters anymore.

Pure camp in a bad way now. Just bad.

Another super boring super uneventful episode.
They need to end this show, give us one more season at most.
      The writing is just horrible.
Yeah I was wondering what was up with that also. My girl and I still like it, I usually ignore some of the crazy things or don't notice much of it like others but there were a few things that even bugged me last night...that being one...

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 8)

To me this show has just become one big TV Trope after another. I mean, they used the same "swoop in at the last minute to save the good guy" trope three times in last nights episode alone. Then you have the everybody dies except one guy trope, bad guy can't aim to save their lives trope, a good guy gets snatched by a bad guy trope, and I'm sure there's others that I'm missing.

With that said, I think that this episode was probably the best of the season, even though it was extremely predictable and I never felt that any of the main characters were in any danger. I still enjoy TWD and am invested in many of the characters but I'm not sure what they can do, if anything, to fix it at this point. If and when this war ends and Negan is killed off I just can't see them going back to moving on and just surviving. I feel like they really need to seriously start making strides towards and end game because just about any where they go from here is going to have a been there done that feel. Basically what I'm saying is the show has peaked for me and is going to end up being one of those shows that ended up staying around too long.

I have never read one of them. Purely a TV show fan. This is my last season. No doubt. Time to move on. I am invested...but season 8 is my last hurrah. There is so much better TV out there now. The show is too long in the tooth and lost all the magic after Terminus. It's just a mismash now. Nothing compelling at all. I actually think killing off Glen and Abraham essentially killed the show.

They did change some of the characters. The governor was a lot worse in the comics and Michonne was a little more friendly with the men if you know what I mean.

Not a big fan of the Rick/Michonne thing. I don't hate the show they just can't do some things on AMC that they can in the comics. If this were on HBO or Starz it could be almost exactly the same as the comic.

They are pretty close to being the same however.

That's only relevant to those who read the comics which not all of us did though.

It's like coming out of a movie and hearing someone say, well, the book was much better.

I binged watched the 1st 5 seasons, then watched 6 and 7 live. I stopped watching and haven't seen season 8 for a few reasons. The main characters seem to be enclosed with enough plot armor to protect them if they took a RPG to the face. The zombie fad for me has ended, especially with the zombies no longer being the primary villain of the series. Overall, the show moves a little too slowly for my preferences and the structure is predictable (a few random deaths, then characters will certainly die during the mid-season and season finales).

Yea I'm done watching. I dont like the majority of the new characters. The plot is just boring and recycled.

And it lost that organic feel a long time ago.

They should have killed off Carl or somebody else. Killing Glenn was a bad idea.

I'm not getting the hatred for this season...as a reader of the comics...I'm liking this season so far. Changes that earlier showrunners inexplicably made have put them in a bit of a corner, as Gimple is trying to bring the show more in line with the comics (Michonne has practically taken Andrea's place in the story, Carol has taken Michonne's place in the story).

As a production guy, I'm wishing this show had GoT's budget.

I'm glad Jerry sliced Jeffrey Dahmer in half and survived the episode. Hell, I was more worried about Jerry's survival than I was Ezekial. While I understand that Shiva needed to die to stay in line with the comics, there is no way in hell that a pack of zombies is bringing a full-strength tiger down. Now if they had shown that Shiva had been wounded by that .50cal machine gun, then I could've bought that.

The All Out War story arc in the comics was two whole volumes (12 issues). It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out as there is more to come.

I still watch it when i cannon demand but i'm really not as invested in the show as I used to be, I'm just trying to reconcile how the show is going to pull off the next arc. Will be interesting to see for sure.

I thought the last one was pretty good. Almost, almost, makes Negan sympathetic -- and I'm glad we didn't go there.

I'm still salty about Shiva. We barely know her, but I've been more affected by her passing than any death for 3 seasons.
