Here is my updated Pop collection display. Have 3 boxes on one wall and 2 on another. Was actually able to condense and clear space on the top of one of the shadow boxes which is good with 8 more Pops coming.

It all comes down to two things: The first is availability and the second price.

As for availability, most newer pops that are really popular can be difficult to find in most stores, especially if you have a lot of collectors in your area. Some pos's have exclusives that are don't have a store in my area so online is the only way to get those. Heck, I bought one pop from Singapore that was exclusive to Asia and I've bought a bunch from Australia as well.

Any vaulted pop isn't going to be in retail stores, well it would be a miracle if it some was anyway. If you're lucky you might have a comic book or some sort of second hand store that buys/sells pops and get some old stuff that way. I have a 2nd and Charles a little over an hour away but they sell them for close to PPG and by the time I factor in the time/gas it's almost better to get them online. Of course, then you have to deal with waiting and it possibly being damaged but that's just part of it, I suppose.

For price, most commons you can get a little cheaper online but like I said you have to deal with shipping. Most of the times stores are more expensive but you can find good deals like Hot Topic's Hot Cash, FYE has some good deals (unfortunately ours closed) and I've seen Gamestop have different deals as well (3 for $27 or Buy 3 get 1 free). Some stores have a ship-to-store option and that can help save you trips to the store if you're looking for something specific.

I'd say we get most of ours online either from Facebook, eBay, or Mercari. During the first month or so of collecting we had a blast going to the different stores and hunting. However, once you do it for awhile you learn what each store has and most of the time it doesn't change too much. At least not until the next hot release anyway.

I believe 2nd and Charles is owned by Books-a-Million and they are like the Gamestop of the pop world. Meaning they take trade-in's and pay hardley nothing for then flip them (of course they have other things too video games/systems, books, comics, movies, etc.

They have the largest selection of pops my far and the best thing about them is that you never know what they're going to have. If you go into Target you know that they're going to have their exclusives and commons, same thing for Wal Mart, Hot Topic, Barnes and Noble, etc. But at 2nd and Charles they can have anything from all of the stores.

If your 2nd Charles is anything like ours in my only advice is to be prepared to spend a lot of time in there & make sure you have Stashpedia on your phone before you go in. We always cross check with Amazon too just to make sure we're getting a good buy. Also you might want to bring a bag or two. They are a green company so you have to bring your own bags or buy one of their reusable ones.

My pickups from the last couple of weeks... in no particular order. I actually got two of the Leia/R2-D2 set. I didn't even realize that the Leia glows in the dark until I received it.

I plan on doing some '80s TV/movies cases too, so some of these will be housed together.

Speaking of the '80s, this past weekend was the 30th anniversary of the release of Coming To America... I'll definitely have to pull that out and watch this weekend. I'm still waiting on my Randy Watson to arrive, but the rose petals under Prince Akeem's feet really cracks me up! [emoji23] That's great attention to detail.

Gotta love mail days. Chase Beverly from ebay and the other 5 from DeepDiscount.com. Pretty bummed they sent me a Freddy with a banged up box.

DuckTales collection complete now. Even though Launchpad is technically a Darkwing Duck Pop, he was also on DuckTales. IT collection also complete minus the Pennywise Chase which I don't want because it's boring as hell.

I had a nice nerd day today - we watched Ant-Man this morning then went out in the wild looking for pop's.

Most of this is from 2nd and Charles, in fact only the Target Exclusives and Fish Mooney (Michael's) aren't. The Squints and Wendy's 2-pack is the thing in the pic that cost over $10-11. 20180706_184238.jpg
