Yeah, it's not like anybody that was on antidepressants ever killed themselves.

looks like their showing his episodes on travel channel today
Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
        Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
        Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

        Captain Tenneal: Get it on!

I apologise if anyone thought my previous post was meant in jest and took offence. It was not, though I did poorly word how I feel about the subject matter, that is how I feel though after 2 of my family members did the same. I am sorry though and will not share my burden on this site again as there are too many others here who have endured the same thing and not all of them are at the same stage of grief in their road to recovery as I am.

RIP Mr. Bourdain and prayers for his loved ones.

As a Catholic i'm glad the Church has done a 180 on their stance regarding suicide. A lot of the arguments about suicide are jaundiced by the hundreds and hundreds of years of teaching that it's a sin and a selfish act. I feel horrible for any person who is so depressed and lost that they take that dramatic action. There's no way one should criticize what the person did to get out of their misery.

A proactive and caring approach to mental illness is the key to curbing suicide and solving these issues. Condemnation and calling these victims "selfish" does nothing but harm IMO.

(please delete if this is too much for OS)
You are right...while it's still a sin, the mental illness aspect causes issues with the knowingly and willingly committing the act.

It does frustrate me though because of all the help out there and imagining Kate Spade's and Bourdain's young daughters growing up without a Dad. I think that's where the "selfish" aspects come in.

RIP Bourdain. I totally respect his talent, but he wasn't quite my cup of tea with his shows...he will be missed for sure.

Why is it necessarily gossip? They point out the connections between these people and what they are into, presenting evidence to the point. Gossip is something entirely different. They didn't say he was into these practices and in fact point that out, but that at one time he had to have been affiliated.

We don't really know who these celebrities are and when they are not on camera. You only fall in like or in love with their personnas.
