Completely agree that it wasn't mapped out well. You really have to wonder what Disney was thinking in splitting up the director's for their multibillion dollar franchise. Also, I remember daisey Ridley had a interview once where I guess JJ wrote out an outline for the trilogy and RJ more or less trashed it when he wrote last jedi (paraphrasing).

So I had apparently repressed quite a few plot points from TLJ. I brushed back up on some of the concepts and...yeah I dont know how JJ makes a good episode than can both conclude the trilogy while not making episode 8 irrelevant.

Caulfield, that theory sounds terrible.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the whole balance to the force thing comes from him destroying the Jedi in III and the Sith in VI.

There were plot points open at the end of VII, but I heard RJ was left to do with them as he wanted. They would have been way better off writing all three films at once, rather than going one at a time. Regardless, IX is in a rough spot, you have too many uninteresting characters, a plot with countless issues, and having to follow up VIII which wrote the trilogy into a corner. I can't say I envy the writer for IX.

Anyone been or planning to go to Disneyland to check out Star Wars world? Just watching some videos of it and it looks phenomenal.

I’m not the biggest SW fan but I got goosebumps seeing how detailed it is.

I grew up with the OT. I enjoyed the prequels (while recognizing there are some "issues" lol). But I have struggled with the first 2 films of the current trilogy....If not tied to the SW franchise, I would probably like them more, but just too many deviations from the view I have had of the SW Universe for the last 35 years. Perhaps IX can save it for me.

I dont known about nobody. TLJ got a lot of hate but TFA got a lot of love and even most people that dont like it say it wasn't a bad movie but just to much liked 4. I very rarely hear people say the movie is bad. The prequles killed star wars for me TFA brought back the love for me. TLJ I had a lot of hype for I enjoyed it a lot but I also thought it would be a lot better. TFA was a much better movie then TLJ.

Agreed. But it also feels like entire saga circled back and undid much of what was accomplished in the OT (which I lived through 100+ times via VHS tape lol).
- OT: The Empire was defeated. TFA: Well now we have the first order which is pretty much the same thing.
- OT: Two death stars destroyed. TFA: Now we have Star Killer base. Even more powerful.
- OT: Emperor defeated. TFA: This guy Snoke comes out of no where and is pretty much the Emp.
- OT: Han Solo evolves to think of others. TFA: Han back to being a Smuggler/Mercenary.
- OT: Luke chooses the light side and refuses to kill his father. TLJ: Luke thinks about killing his nephew in his sleep.
etc.
