Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
SpoilerFor a second when Gus was pondering how Lalo could have possibly been "talked out" of sending Saul to put the hit on him, I thought that Gus was considering how much value Saul could bring if he was able to talk Lalo out of his plan. In reality he just realizes that this plan must be a front because Lalo wouldn't ever be talked out of something, but it also makes sense that Saul doesn't really ever meet Gus before setting Walter up with him. I think his level of connection to him now makes sense for that to be the case
That's exactly what I thought. If he (Saul) could change the mind of someone as cunning as Lalo he'd have value for Gus.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Another brilliant episode. Very surprised these last 2 episodes they did so much wrapping things up, but it was all really well done.
SpoilerNow that Jimmy is fully Saul, and we're closer to (in?) Breaking Bad timeline, I wonder how much of the show is going to be Breaking Bad events from Saul's perspective?Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Another great "Don E." pool scene.SpoilerHector surmised that Lalo was dead and provided Don Eladio with a fake report that said Lalo's burnt body was found verified by dental records. The Don clearly no longer respects Hector as he made fun of his irritating bell ringing. Pretty funny.
Significant Spoiler:
SpoilerCould be a smokescreen but IMDb has the next episode ("Nippy") represented with a picture of Walt and Jesse inside a vehicle with coats on.Comment

With the early break up this season I bet we get a lot of Gene in the last 4 episodes. Surprised it came so soon really.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Spoiler
I wonder how much of Kim's post breakup storyline will be in the rest of the season. It feels like a simple breakup answers a lot of the questions as to why she isnt in BB and how Jimmy finally takes on the jaded personality of Saul Goodman 'full-time', but it also feels like there has to be just a little more to it. Not that this explanation is disappointing (I think simple explanations tend to work much better in TV shows than coming up with complex explanations, even if they leave a few questions unanswered), just that it feels like we havent seen the last of Kim Wexler. I think the character deserves a bit more closure than the fade to black, but the over arching BB/BCS storyline doesn't really need to explain what happens to Kim to add to the main story.
The teaser for next weeks episode is interesting, seems to be set in the Gene storyline. I guess based on the other teasers it isn't a guarantee that the episode will be focused on Gene, but again like last week I am really interested to see where they go having wrapped up two of the main questions so early un the season

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Probably my favorite episode so far this season, which feels scandalous given everything that has taken place over the past 4 episodes.
SpoilerSo many awesome little details, from the era appropriate Nebraska football talk, to Gene talking up "the 50 year old HS chemistry teacher" who he turned into a millionaire to convince Jeff he knew what he was doing. This episode proved that threw all his aliases, Jimmy/Saul/Gene has always been "Slippin' Jimmy", it's just been a matter of his motivation behind the scams. As a kid it was about surviving among the "wolves", as an adult in Cicero it was just about fun, as a lawyer it was about advancing his career while going up against fellow lawyers who he knew didnt respect him, and with Kim it was again about fun. Anyone who got in the way was a just a sucker
Going forward:
SpoilerCurious to see how they wrap up Gene's story. It seems like Jeff might not be satisfied with a one-and-done heist. Gene tried his best to assure mutual destruction if he tries to rat him out, but it seems like Carol Burnett's character might get too nosy and stumble on something she shouldn't, or she will try to keep Gene around making it harder for him to disassociate with Jeff. He does have a way with old ladies. As she was wheeling up to the garage while they were going through the goods I couldn't help but think "they killed a kid in BB, nobody is safe!!"
Looking "back":
SpoilerI think they will come back to Kim's storyline at some point, but I think they will leave her out of the next episode or two let the breakup kind of sink in.
I still think there needs to be a few more holes filled in before Saul sets up Walt with Fring. Has he been in contact with Mike since the events of 6x08/6x09? Does he ever meet Gus face to face (I cant recall if he mentions this in BB).
Lastly they will still need to address the phone call Saul mentions to his secretary when cleaning out his office before visiting the vacuum repairshop in the flash forward scene in season 3(? Maybe 4?)
Cant wait to see how they wrap it up. Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould sure know how to tell a story!

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
Spoiler
Fring mentions "the lawyer" in "Green Light" (BB S3: E4). Although everything suggests they've never met it's certainly possible they have (Unless I'm missing something).
SpoilerThere's only three episodes left so I doubt Kim would show up in anything but the series finale.

It's up there with any episode in this great final season.
I got a kick out of Jimmy winning the younger security guard over bit by bit getting to the point of playing football with a Cinnabon.Comment

Re: Better Call Saul Season 4 (8-6-18)
I saw a youtube video that interpreted itSpoileras Gene marveling at the fact that he got away with the scam. Almost as if he is thinking "I still got it". Him picking up the loudly designed shirt is supposed to show he is possibly slipping back into the Saul Goodman persona, almost like an addiction. And the feeling of getting away with it could potentially let his guard down and put him in danger
Regarding the timeline,Spoilersome internet sleuths determined from the Nebraska football conversation that the events of 6x10 take place in mid/late October 2010. (Unranked Texas beat Nebraska on October 16, 2010, and Taylor Martinez set the freshman record they mentioned the week after). For context...Walter White died in September 2010, so the events of 6x10 are only about a month or so after his death. Gene's health scare and initial interaction with Jeff could have been around the same time that Gene found out about Walt. It would make sense why he would be so paranoid. Although it already made sense that he would be paranoid without knowing exactly what year we were in, so I could just be reading a bit too far into things.
EDIT: Unrelated to the spoilers. Just saw this and didn't want to double post:
